This technique is to help people with busy minds to clear it so that you can sleep deeply.
Please only listen to this if you're lying down somewhere safe and it's okay if you drift off.
You can listen to this to help you sleep but rather I would like you to listen to it several times until you can do it by memory so that you can practice this technique all on your own and send yourself off into a deep and relaxing sleep.
Are you ready?
So begin by realizing that you can think about different things.
You can think about a tree and whether you visualize it or just imagine it or sense that there is a tree,
You're aware that you are not your tree.
You're aware that you are not a tree and just as you can imagine a relaxing bath or massage,
You can imagine a plane in the sky but you are not the plane.
You are the consciousness having the thought about the plane.
You are not your thoughts.
Your thoughts are processes in your mind and you can begin to watch them.
Imagine a cinema screen in a very expensive and flash movie theater.
Of course if you don't like movies you can have that screen be anywhere you like and you're in a very comfortable seat.
Can you imagine that?
A big huge cinema screen and a very comfortable seat or a recliner or a bed to lie in.
I want you to imagine that on the cinema screen is playing your thoughts.
Perhaps you can see them like a movie.
Perhaps you can see yourself.
Maybe it's a still picture.
Are there colors?
Just notice.
And it may be changing the movie or the picture as your thoughts change.
What you see on the cinema screen changes and whether you visualize it or simply know that it's there,
Your thoughts,
The images,
They change.
And the speed changes.
Maybe they speed up or maybe they slow down.
And maybe you can change that image on the screen to become softer around the edges like an old-fashioned movie.
Maybe the images can start to merge into one quiet and calm scene.
One still image.
And the colors can be so relaxing in that image.
Perhaps they're all one color.
Just notice.
And you can add anything you like to this movie or this picture to make it more relaxing.
Will you add some soothing,
Relaxing colors?
Some soothing,
Relaxing,
And calm backdrop or scenery?
And what about some soothing sounds like gentle rain,
The wind through the leaves of trees,
The sound of a heart beating?
And you can add any sounds to the movie that feels so very relaxing.
And you can just let all the color fade away.
Let that image just fade away.
And now the walls of the theater can just fade away one by one.
The wall behind the screen disappears and there's nothing there.
A wave of relaxation as the walls on the sides fade away.
The floor,
The ceiling,
Until it's just you in that seat.
Now drop away the seat or whatever you're resting on.
And you're just floating.
And now drop away you until there's nothing left.
And if anything appears,
Just let it drop away.
Let it fade.
You can drain the colors and just let it fade away.
