Good morning.
God morning to you.
He's speaking to you.
Communicating with you on every level at all times.
Rumi said he is a letter to everyone and when you open it it says live.
Today he wants you to open your Bible to the page he guides you to.
Just pick it up and say Jesus you take over and open it and read wherever your thumb falls,
Wherever your finger is and feel the life in those words,
The life behind those words,
The life that is even more true than those words.
Close that body's eyes and listen for it.
Listen for his voice.
The voice that doesn't need words,
That doesn't use language.
The voice that is love,
That is silence.
It's saying my sheep listen to my voice.
I know them and they follow me.
I give them eternal life and they shall never perish.
No one will snatch them out of my hand.
My father who has given them to me is greater than all.
No one can snatch them out of my father's hand and I and the father are one.
Your I,
That presence and the father is one.
When you say Jesus you take over it's still you but it's the eternal you,
A silent you and then what needs to be done gets done in silence,
In confidence,
With power and promptly.
We're on day eight of our nine-day novena.
Do you know who prayed the first novena,
The first consecutive nine days of prayer?
The apostles did.
After Jesus ascended there were nine days between that and the descent of the Holy Spirit and that's why we pray symbolically for nine days in a row while we wait for grace.
We live in grace while we wait for grace.
Sometimes Mother Teresa said she didn't have nine days to wait for grace and so she prayed the emergency novena,
The swift novena,
The flying novena,
A prayer I've prayed every night for a minute because I've been drawn to it.
I pray it after the rosary.
It's beautiful.
It's called the Memorare.
It means remember.
I memorized it last night so that I could share it with you from my heart instead of from my phone.
It says remember oh gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection or implored thy help or sought thy intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence I fly to thee oh virgin of virgins my mother to thee I come before thee I stand sinful and sorrowful oh mother of the word incarnate despise not my petitions but hear me and answer me amen.
Mother Teresa used to get so many prayer requests,
Had so many petitions,
So many intentions that she'd pray nine of those in a row and a tenth one for gratitude because she knew whatever she was praying for would be granted that or something better and it always was.
There's a gazillion stories out there anecdotal love notes not just from her but from many other saints of which you're one.
Maura McKeegan says I can't remember where I first heard about the emergency novena but the graces I have received each time I've prayed it have been tangible and immediate.
You could pray it today you could pray it tomorrow you could pray it after our nine days ends and begins again.
I'll put it in the show notes you could pray it with a rosary there's a million prayers you can pray but what counts is the love the devotion the heart.
Ayanla said don't pray from the hurt pray from the heart.
Let us pray.
These are Jesus's words to your soul close your eyes and let yourself be carried away on the flowing current of my grace.
Close your eyes and do not think of the present turning your thoughts away from the future just as you would from temptation.
Repose in me believing in my goodness and I promise you by my love that if you say you take care of it I will take care of it all.
I will console you liberate you and guide you and now we pray 10 times not from our hurt but from our heart from our soul from spirit we worship him in spirit because he is spirit oh Jesus I surrender myself to you take care of everything oh Jesus I surrender myself to you take care of everything oh Jesus I surrender myself to you take care of everything oh Jesus I surrender myself to you take care of everything oh Jesus I surrender myself to you take care of everything oh Jesus I surrender myself to you take care of everything oh Jesus I surrender myself to you take care of everything oh Jesus I surrender myself to you take care of everything oh Jesus I surrender myself to you take care of everything oh Jesus I surrender myself to you take care of everything and now our concluding prayer mother I am yours now and forever through you and with you I always want to belong completely to Jesus amen when mother Teresa didn't even have the strength to pray her emergency novena she'd simply close her eyes and pray Mary mother of Jesus please be a mother to me now and that would give her the strength to pray it may give you the strength to pray our nine-day novena any prayer I say if you don't feel like praying force it because something is also forcing you not to pray your mind your ego is telling you it's not worth it just keep scrolling keep waiting for tomorrow you'll pray tomorrow but tomorrow is not promised eternity is life is if you stop doing the insignificant and do the only significant thing and when I say the only significant thing and I've received questions about this you still have to do the things it's not like your whole life becomes sitting and praying your whole life does become praying but the praying is happening while the working is happening while the hands are moving while the mind is thinking usually in the background there's also this train of thought about what you should do next and how this will affect you and how you can get to this and how you can avoid that but instead now in the background you'll hear Jesus you take over Jesus you take over every time you turn within that's what you're hearing every time I turn within I'm hearing Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee and that's happening while I'm emailing while I'm editing these shows while I'm helping the kids with homework while I'm making beds while I'm washing dishes I'm praying and everything else is just happening I give the example of Ram Dass all the time he said if you were riding shotgun with him he's driving and you were to ask him what are you doing right now he'd say he's chanting he's rhyming the driving is happening it's secondary your whole life becomes his in Corinthians it says this means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person the old life is gone a new life has begun and this new life you don't worry you immediately as soon as you notice worry say Jesus you take over Jesus you take care of it and then you know since Jesus is you the work starts but it is inspired maybe the work doesn't start immediately it'll start when the time comes and in the seeming meantime you'll just keep coming right back here to the center of it all you just remain in the center of the watching and then forget that you're there that's Lao Tzu the one who said Jesus you take over isn't even there a silence is there Rumi says what is it to know something of God burn inside that presence burn up copper melts in the healing elixir so melt yourself in this mixture that sustains existence you tighten your two hands together determined not to give up saying I and we but this tightening blocks you this me that me that you claim there is why you feel stuck and you don't have to let it go just hear the silence every time you think of what me means of what me must achieve hear the silence there's nothing for Jesus to take over there's nobody for him to take over for only he is here only God is here say it with me only love is here there is none else love loving love I won't even say it today because you feel it I'll chat tomorrow
