Let's take a moment and just talk about how trying to fix ourselves actually can be the very thing that is keeping us stuck.
A lot of times,
It can be very compelling to put our focus on something about ourselves that we don't like.
And then we can decide that we are going to fix that thing about ourselves.
Maybe it's our eating habits.
Maybe it's making time for ourselves.
Maybe it's our workout regimen.
Maybe it's our sleep patterns.
But we decide we're going to fix it.
And what happens in that dynamic is by the very nature of us deciding it needs to be fixed,
We are implying that something is wrong.
And so everything that we do then to create this fixing is actually coming from a root of us not being acceptable,
Something being wrong,
Something being bad.
And so everything that we do has a hint of this in the outcome.
And that can actually turn out to be the very thing that keeps us stuck because we get caught in this loop of wanting to fix something but not feeling good enough and not feeling good enough.
So we want to fix it,
But we want to fix it,
But we're not feeling good enough.
And so you can find yourself stuck.
And this is a place where it's really,
Really,
Really helpful for us to be able to find a measure of acceptance of who we are and where we are.
And understand that moving forward is about just that,
Moving forward,
Not fixing.
So let's give an example here.
Let's say you want to create better eating habits,
Okay?
So you look at your diet and you go,
I need to fix this,
I need to do better.
I'm not,
You know,
Basically implying I'm not doing good enough.
And now let's take that very same concept and go,
You know what,
I'd really like to eat healthier.
I'm worthy of healthier food choices.
I'm worthy of feeling better.
And I'm worthy of having an experience where I feel great in my body.
Those are two very distinctly different states of being.
You know,
And so we can,
From one place,
We can choose to judge and criticize ourselves.
And from the other place,
We can choose to acknowledge and accept where we are and make healthier choices going forward.
And so today,
I encourage you to try it.
Try it,
Pay attention to where you're judging yourself and see if you can soften it,
Find a little acceptance,
And then make a choice as to how you would like to go forward.
