Welcome to Breathwork for Creativity.
This is a really potent and beautiful breathwork practice getting you into the energy of creativity,
Honing into that innate creativity that exists within all of us,
That is all of us.
It's worth pointing out that our feminine or our yin energy is the true essence of creativity.
The yin is Mother Earth,
It is nature,
It is water,
It is flow,
And we each hold the masculine and feminine or yin and yang energy within us,
Regardless of what gender or sex we present as.
So the masculine or the yang is this direct containing very clear and strong energy and independence,
Whereas the yin is that flow,
This energy of yes,
Of expansion,
Intuition,
And connection.
So each one of us is creative and everything really that we do can be looked at as our art.
Who we be,
Who we are,
Is a creation in itself.
Our being,
Our existing,
Is creative.
We are a creation.
So to connect with this today,
We are going to be utilizing a conscious circular breath through an open mouth.
So you may be familiar with the conscious circular breath if you have taken the breath basics course,
Or if you've engaged in one of the longer meditative breathwork practices.
The difference here is that we are going to be using a little more intensity than what we would typically experience with a longer meditative practice.
The mouth is going to be open and this breath is like the air of the yin.
So imagine a wave of breath moving without end into the lungs and back out into the world.
You can also envision a circle where the inhale is one half of the circle and the exhale is the second half of the circle and there's no pause in between.
So it's going to sound like this.
Noticing that there is no distinct pause at the top or the bottom of the breath.
We're also going to allow this breath to be very audible.
It's going to sound a little noisy,
Airy,
Or breathy so that you're really feeling the air circulating through the body.
And it's important to note that this breath is not quick.
We are not super ventilating.
We're just being very intentional about each breath that we take.
So allow the breath to really support this practice.
If you are feeling lightheaded or overwhelmed at any moment,
That is a good sign to just tune into your body.
Slow down the breath,
Remembering that you are in full control of the speed and intensity of your own practice.
I'm offering you a framework,
But listen to your body because you ultimately know what is right for you.
But with the conscious circular breathing,
There can be some activation that happens in the body,
Especially when we are breathing really quickly and not allowing the inhale and the exhale to be equal in length.
So just take that into note as well.
So today we are focusing on the intention of I am innately creative.
Creativity flows freely through me.
I'm going to guide us through three rounds of this breath and you will also hear me encourage you to bring some movement into the body as you are breathing.
The movement that we are going to focus on is going to originate from the sacral chakra,
So the area of the energetic womb space of your pelvic bowl,
And we're going to be making a circular motion with the body that originates from this space kind of moving upward.
The idea here is that we're waking up any stagnant energy that exists here in the area of the sacral chakra because this is also energetically where we hold on to our creativity.
So we're directing the breath into the body,
Moving it down into the pelvis,
Moving and activating that energy center,
And then releasing.
All right,
Let's get started.
So find yourself in a seated position,
Whether you're sitting on the floor,
Maybe you are have your legs crossed on a meditation pillow,
Or you can sit up on a chair.
Really settling in,
Feeling the ground beneath you,
Anchoring into this present moment,
Blinking the eyes closed,
Feeling yourself settling in,
Surrendering to gravity,
Allowing any movements to come into the body as you notice areas of tension,
Keeping the spine tall for optimal breathing,
And we're going to slowly begin our conscious circular breathing pattern in and out the mouth,
Remembering that there is no pause at the top or the bottom of the breath.
Tuning into our intention today,
Honing our creativity,
Focusing on the mantra,
I am innately creative.
Creativity flows freely through me.
Really allowing this breath in and out to be very clear and intentional.
Remembering it can take a moment to fall into your own pattern.
Keep coming back to the sound of your own breath,
The feeling of the air moving in and out of the lungs,
Circulating through the body.
One more minute of this first round.
Begin slowly bringing in movement in a circular motion of the pelvis.
Maybe syncing each circle with your breath,
Finding a rhythm that is aligned with you and who you are in this moment.
I am innately creative.
Creativity flows freely through me.
Just about 10 seconds left of this,
So continue just giving as much focus.
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Let's take a big breath in together.
Hold it at the top.
Keeping the eyes closed,
Holding,
Holding,
Holding the breath.
I am innately creative.
Feeling this creativity moving and surging through the body.
Slowly,
Slowly releasing when you have reached your max.
A couple of normal breaths here in the nose and out the mouth.
Maybe placing a hand on the womb space,
Another hand on the heart space,
Just to feel the connection and get ready to begin another round of our circular breathing.
Ready.
I am innately creative.
Creativity flows freely through me,
Through my body,
Welcoming in any of that circular movement from the sacral chakra.
Seeing if you can direct that inhale deeper into the body,
Down into the space of that sacral energy center.
Feeling it fill up your entire being.
The essence of creativity.
30 more seconds.
Stay with it.
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Big breath in.
Hold at the top.
Creativity flows freely through me.
Really tuning into your felt sense,
Feeling,
Hearing,
Sensing everything from the inside of your body out.
Hold,
Hold,
Hold if you're still holding.
And then slowly letting it all go on a release.
This is our last round here.
Almost done.
You're doing amazing.
You were doing it exactly right.
Imagining this breath as a wave,
As a circle moving in and out of the body.
Bringing in the fullest breaths that you have ever breathed.
Imagining all of this air coming into the body,
Really inflating all the way down to the base of the pelvic floor.
Activating that sacral chakra.
Moving and shaking up all of the stagnant energy that may exist in the body.
Bringing in the circular movement of the pelvis.
Beautifully flowing to your own rhythm.
Finishing the last minute of this at your own pace.
Ten more seconds.
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Big breath in.
Hold at the top.
Hold this one for as long as you can.
Moving and flowing.
The tingles,
The heat,
The emotion,
Anything that's present here,
Just let it be.
This is all your art.
And whenever you are ready,
Slowly let it out,
Maybe with an audible sigh.
Bringing any intuitive movement into the body that feels good.
Maybe it's a stretch,
A shake,
A shimmy,
A dance.
Staying with the energy for just a moment longer.
Bringing your awareness to your being,
The awareness to your body.
Placing one hand over the center of center,
Which is just right below the belly button,
And another hand up onto your heart.
Feeling the beating of your heart,
Feeling the movement of your energy,
Feeling the movement of the blood flowing through your veins.
Connecting to your creativity,
To your innate creativity.
It is always,
Always there within you.
Creativity flows freely through me.
Holding onto that.
And when you're ready,
You can blink your eyes,
Gently open.
Coming back to this moment,
Coming back into your space.
Taking a second to just look around you and acknowledge the space that you're in,
Maybe letting your eyes rest on a couple of objects around you as you reorient.
And we'll take one last breath together.
Inhale.
Letting it go.
And we are complete.
Congratulations,
You did amazing.
Go and create.
Take this wonderful flow of yin energy and do what you will with it.
Remembering that you can come back to this practice anytime that you're feeling a need for creative excitement and flow and just to get things moving again.
I recommend you take a moment to go outside if you can,
Get your feet on the earth,
Soak in all of the beauty and goodness of Mother Earth and the nature around you,
Just to continue to lean into this yin space that you are in.
I hope this was supportive and goodbye until next time.
