Hello,
Little one.
It is time to rest.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath and feel the soft,
Cozy blankets around you.
Let's begin a peaceful journey to dreamland where you will be safe,
Loved,
And protected.
Let's take a deep breath in and out.
Feel your body relaxing with each breath.
We will count down from 5 to 1 and with each number you will become more and more relaxed.
Are you ready?
Let's begin.
5.
Take a deep breath in.
Feel the tension leave your body.
4.
Your muscles are softening.
Your mind is slowing.
3.
Let go of everything that isn't needed for now.
2.
Feel calm,
Still,
And safe.
1.
Your body is completely relaxed,
Ready for peaceful rest.
Now I want you to imagine you're lying in a soft,
Cozy meadow surrounded by tall,
Friendly trees.
The air is warm and the stars are just beginning to twinkle.
A figure approaches you gently from behind.
It is a giant,
But don't worry,
This giant is not scary.
He is a warm and friendly giant and he's here to protect you as you sleep.
He has a big,
Soft smile and his arms are wide open,
Ready to give you the gentlest,
Biggest hug.
The giant bends down slowly and carefully,
Wrapping his big,
Strong arms around you.
You feel so safe in his arms,
Surrounded by the warmth and love.
His hug is like the most comforting blanket,
Wrapping you with care.
The giant's hands softly rub your back and you can feel his kindness,
His gentle strength,
And his love for you.
You are safe here,
Little one.
You can rest because the giant is here and he will protect you through the night.
The giant looks down at you,
His large,
Kind eyes soft with understanding.
He smiles gently and begins his story,
His deep voice a calming presence in the quiet.
You know,
Little one,
I was once a young giant just like you.
I didn't always know how to face my fears.
In fact,
I used to be scared of many things.
At night,
When the moon was high and the wind whispered through the trees,
I would feel a tightness in my chest.
The darkness seemed so big and endless,
And I didn't know if I could handle it.
Sometimes I would hear the howling of the wolves in the distance,
And it would make my heart race.
I thought the shadows might swallow me up.
And do you know what I did when I felt scared?
I would hide.
I would curl up in the corner of my cave,
Trying to shield myself from the dark.
I thought that if I closed my eyes tight enough,
The fear would go away.
But little one,
No matter how tightly I shut my eyes,
The fear never left.
It stayed with me,
Just like the shadow that follows you around,
No matter how hard you try to escape it.
One evening,
After a particularly long day,
I was sitting by the fire,
Feeling the usual fear creeping in as night approached.
The dark seemed to press in on me,
And I wanted to run away.
But something inside me,
A small voice,
Told me to stay.
To face the darkness rather than run away from it.
So I took a deep breath,
Just like we're doing now,
And I decided to sit in the dark for a while,
To let it be with me.
And do you know what happened,
Little one?
When I stopped running from the dark,
I realized that it wasn't as scary as I thought.
The darkness wasn't a monster,
It simply was the night.
The time when the stars come out to shine,
When the world gets a little quieter.
As I sat there,
My fear started to fade,
And I realized I had been safe all along.
That wasn't the only fear I had.
Oh no,
Little one,
There were many others.
There was the fear of being alone,
Of not having anyone to talk to.
There was the fear that I wasn't strong enough,
That I couldn't handle life's challenges.
And you know what?
I still feel those fears sometimes,
Even as a grown giant.
But instead of running from them,
I decide to look them in the eye and say,
I see you fear,
But you do not control me.
I've learned that fear is a part of life.
It's a part of every creature's journey.
But fear doesn't have to rule us.
It doesn't have to make us hide or be afraid to try new things.
Fear is just a feeling,
Like any other,
And it can be calmed.
I learned that by breathing slowly and deeply,
By trusting that I am strong enough to face whatever comes,
The fear becomes smaller and smaller.
I remember the first time I stood tall in the face of fear.
It was during a great storm.
The winds howled,
The trees bent,
And the rain fell in torrents.
I was scared,
But instead of hiding,
I stood in the middle of the storm,
With my feet firmly planted on the ground.
I took a deep breath,
And I let the storm pass through me.
And do you know what I found,
Little one?
I found that I was not broken by the storm.
I was still standing,
Still strong,
Still me.
And after that,
I knew no matter what fear I faced,
I could face it and come out stronger on the other side.
So little one,
When you feel fear creeping in,
Remember that it is okay to be afraid.
It is okay to feel the tightness in your chest or the flutter in your tummy.
But don't let fear be the boss of you.
You are stronger than you think,
You are braver than you know,
And you have a light inside of you that can chase away any darkness.
That light,
Your courage,
Is always with you.
And just like the giant who learned to stand tall in the storm,
You can stand tall with your light shining bright.
Every time I feel scared now,
I take a slow deep breath,
And remember the light inside me.
I breathe in deeply,
And as I exhale,
I let go of the fear.
And you can do the same,
Little one.
Let your courage grow with each breath,
And know that you are always safe,
Always protected,
And always loved.
Now little one,
Let's do what the gentle giant did.
Close your eyes,
And take a deep breath in.
Hold it for just a moment,
And then slowly breathe out.
Feel your body becoming even more relaxed.
Imagine now,
Inside of you,
There is a small warm light.
It's glowing softly just for you.
With each breath you take,
That light grows brighter and brighter.
This light is your courage,
Your strength.
It will help you feel safe and brave,
No matter what.
As the giant holds you gently,
He says,
I'm always here for you,
Little one.
Whenever you feel scared,
Just remember to breathe deeply,
And imagine your light growing bright.
Know you are always safe in my arms,
And nothing can harm you when you have your courage with you.
You feel warm in the giant's gentle embrace,
As you drift deeper into rest.
His soft hums are like a lullaby,
And you feel the last of your worries melt away,
Replaced by beautiful,
Peaceful dreams.
The night is quiet,
The stars are shining bright,
And the gentle giant is watching over you,
Ready to protect you as you sleep.
The giant whispers softly,
Sleep well,
Little one,
With the courage of all the light inside you.
Rest now,
For tomorrow is a new day,
Full of adventure and joy.
I'll be here,
Watching over you.
Good night,
Dear one.
As you drift into a peaceful sleep,
Remember,
You are loved,
You are safe,
And you are never alone.
