Hello and welcome to this letting go meditation.
Find a comfy seat or lay down if you haven't already.
This meditation is designed to help you let go of things that have been holding you back or holding you down,
Preventing you from getting the things that you want to manifest.
Let's start by closing the eyes and just taking a couple of nice deep breaths.
With every breath in,
Inviting calmness and relaxation,
And every breath out,
Just letting go.
Maybe with every exhale you can think about sinking deeper into the surface that you're on.
Just inviting a quick body scan,
Starting at the top of your head,
Just becoming aware of it,
Allowing that awareness to travel down the sides of your head,
Down the back of your head,
Down your forehead,
Allowing that awareness to continue traveling down,
Down your jaw,
Down to your chin,
Down your neck,
All the way down to your shoulders.
Just noticing if the shoulders are hiked up towards the ears or if we can allow them to fall with gravity,
Any amount.
Maybe even shrugging the shoulders up towards your ears and allowing them to plop back down,
Just to feel what it would feel like to relax your shoulders.
Continue to bring this awareness down,
Down your arms,
Down to your elbows,
Down your forearms,
All the way down to your wrists,
Down to your fingertips.
Just bring awareness.
If you could find some way to relax your arms,
What would that feel like?
Maybe you could imagine your arms getting more heavy,
Or maybe they could sink deeper into whatever surface they're on.
Just continuing to bring this awareness down from our upper back,
Down to our mid-back,
Down to the natural curve of our lumbar spine,
Down to our low back,
And also bringing awareness down our chest,
Down our diaphragm,
Down to our core.
Just noticing what we notice.
Just relaxing the belly if possible,
Allowing the belly to expand on the inhale and to collapse on the exhale.
Just noticing what we notice.
Continuing to bring awareness down,
Down to our hips.
Just noticing where our hips are resting.
Maybe weight shifting from one hip to the other,
Just becoming familiar,
Allowing awareness to continue traveling down,
Down our hamstrings,
Down our quads,
Down to our knees,
Down our arms and our calves,
All the way down to our ankles,
Down to the heels.
Again just noticing where our heels are resting,
Maybe putting a bit of pressure into the heels just to become familiar,
And relaxing,
Allowing awareness to continue traveling down the arches of our feet all the way down to our toes,
Maybe giving them a little wiggle just to say,
I'm here.
Taking a deep breath in,
Deep breath out.
One more deep breath in,
And out.
Starting to bring into your awareness a backpack.
It can look like whatever you desire.
It could be old,
It could be ripped,
It could be leather.
Just bringing to mind a backpack,
And putting that backpack on your shoulders and noticing it feels really heavy,
But you continue to walk along with the backpack on your back.
You notice the further you walk,
The heavier the backpack gets.
You can feel it weighing down on your shoulders,
Maybe causing ache or pain,
But you continue walking along.
Just notice where you're walking,
Just noticing what you notice.
Maybe you can hear birds singing,
Maybe you can hear the wind,
Noticing what trees or colors are around you.
What's the surface that you're walking on?
Is it dirt,
Is it gravel,
Is it a boardwalk,
Or maybe something else?
Just walking along this path,
And you're starting to come to a hill.
You start trekking up this hill,
Noticing the backpack is getting heavier and heavier with every step you take up this hill.
You continue,
With every step the backpack getting heavier and heavier,
Weighing on your shoulders more and more.
You eventually come to a clearing at the top of the hill,
And there's a field,
And you see a hot air balloon in that field.
You start to approach the hot air balloon,
And you have a great idea.
You take the backpack off,
And allow it to plop down onto the ground,
Noticing the instant relief that you feel in your shoulders.
Maybe your body wants to move around,
Just feeling into it right now.
You start to unzip the backpack,
And notice what you've been carrying inside it.
Just finding some way to symbolize all these things that you've been holding onto.
Something that's heavy.
Maybe it's a bottle.
Maybe it's a brick.
Maybe it's a book.
Just noticing these heavy things that you've been carrying around,
And notice that there's labels on them.
And all of these labels are things that you have been carrying around.
So just taking the time now to take all of these things out of the backpack one by one,
Noticing whatever it is that you've been holding onto that you need to let go of,
And putting it inside the hot air balloon to prepare it to be taken away.
So just reaching into the backpack and grabbing the first thing that comes to mind,
Noticing what the label says.
Maybe it's pain.
Maybe it's grief.
Maybe it's something that's not even yours,
Like emotional pain or physical pain.
Just noticing.
And putting each of these things one by one into the hot air balloon.
Feeling these things in your hands,
Noticing its texture.
Putting them into the hot air balloon.
And keep going,
Reaching your hand in,
Grabbing,
Noticing what's on the label.
Maybe it's control.
Maybe it's feelings that we have for someone or something.
Just throwing it into the hot air balloon.
Reaching in the backpack again,
Noticing what's on the label.
Throwing it in the hot air balloon.
Keep repeating this process.
Reaching in.
Grabbing something.
Noticing what its label says.
And throwing it in the hot air balloon.
Feel free to pause this meditation now if you need more time.
This exercise works as a symbolization to the subconscious mind,
Letting it know what we want to let go of.
And now that we're all done taking all of these heavy things out of the backpack that we've been carrying,
You can decide if you want to throw the backpack in the hot air balloon itself as well.
Or if you want to put it back on and feel how light it is.
Find some way to release the hot air balloon from the ground.
Maybe it's untying a rope.
Maybe it's using something to safely detach the rope from the ground.
Maybe the hot air balloon just magically lifts up by itself.
Just notice.
Notice how the hot air balloon starts to lift.
Higher and higher.
And it starts to drift away.
And notice the further it gets,
The freer and lighter you feel.
Knowing that all of these things that you've been holding on to,
You've let go of,
You've released them.
Sending them back into another place,
Outside of yourself.
Eventually,
The hot air balloon gets so far away that you can't see it anymore.
Just noticing what you feel in your body.
Noticing how there's so much more room for new things to be brought in.
Noticing how there's so much more room for positive and meaningful things.
Maybe you feel light.
Maybe you feel more mobile.
Maybe you have relief.
Just noticing.
Starting to come back to body.
Starting to bring awareness to your feet.
Starting to bring awareness to your hands,
Wherever they are.
And although this seems like just a simple exercise,
The subconscious,
The holder of our belief system,
Now understands what it is we desire.
And we'll start to feel lighter,
Happier,
More free,
Knowing that we let go of these things.
We start to have more room for things that we want to manifest and have more of in our life.
Continuing to bring awareness back to body.
Maybe starting to rock the head or roll the head back and forth.
Slowly starting to open the eyes,
Coming back to the room.
Thank you for joining me.
Have a wonderful day.
