Let go and restore. Release a setback, a disappointment that you have been carrying to allow for new space for possibilities and growth. Come on this journey where a stone in your tight hand represents what you are ready to release. Watch as it dissolves and an opening for something new breaks free in you.

Welcome to the serene journey from Simply Harmony Coaching to move from disappointment and setback to serenity.

Accepting what is with self-kindness.

Find a calm and gentle space where you can rest undisturbed for several moments.

Settle your body in a comfortable position,

Letting your hands and feet relax,

Then your whole body.

Allow your eyes to soften or close,

Inviting your breath to grow deep and slow.

Each inhale and exhale is a gentle tether to the present,

At the same time that your feet have imaginary roots and are tethering you to the earth.

Now bring to mind the disappointment or setback that remains very real for you and that you're still holding on to in your body,

Mind,

Or heart.

Perhaps it was a plan that didn't go as expected,

An outcome that didn't measure up to the efforts you made,

Or a person or situation that deflated your hopes for the future.

Allow yourself to acknowledge this experience and your emotions without judgment,

Accepting your humanity in this moment.

From your heart,

Radiate kindness and understanding toward yourself,

Much as you would if you were supporting a dear friend.

Pay attention to where you feel this disappointment in your body.

Are you holding the heaviness in your heart,

Or is it your shoulders or jaw,

Or in your stomach or gut?

Continue with curiosity,

Knowing there's no need to fix it.

Just let it be.

Imagine now that the disappointment can be pulled from your body and become part of a small stone that you hold in your hand with your fingers tied around it.

Notice your unique stone's size,

What it feels like,

Cool,

Solid,

Heavy,

Rough,

Smooth.

Hold the stone,

Which is part of you but also separate from you,

And send it love and compassion to counter the loss,

Frustration,

And disappointment that you have been carrying.

Acknowledge and honor the stone's presence and the feelings it represents,

But know that it does not define or defeat you.

Take a slow and deep conscious breath in.

As you breathe out,

See in your mind's eye that your hand is beginning to unfurl from around the stone.

As you continue breathing,

You feel your grip getting looser and looser.

You understand that you're in no hurry and you don't have to throw the stone away.

You can just stay relaxed and surrender any need to control anything,

As this situation has already passed.

It will just take a perspective shift to be able to move forward without the stone,

Without the feelings represented by the stone.

You're letting go of its hold on you with each breath.

The stone is now radiating a soft and soothing light that spreads up your arm until the light floods your whole body with self-compassion and serenity.

You feel calm and steady.

Notice that the stone is dissolving before you as a response to your acknowledgement,

Understanding,

Self-kindness and self-compassion.

As you let go,

Realize that a space has opened for new possibilities.

There is now comfort where there once was frustration and peace and calm where there had been feelings of loss and a wish for things to be different.

See that your hands are now fully open and empty.

You are overcome with a deep serenity and a sense of freedom from the disappointment.

You have feelings of gratitude for having released what could not be changed.

Anchor in these feelings by saying to yourself,

I choose to be peaceful,

Calm and content in this moment.

Serenity is within me and around me.

Allow yourself to rest now in this self-kindness,

Peaceful openness and personal power for as long as it feels right to you,

Pausing the recording if necessary.

When you feel ready,

Bring your awareness back to the room.

Open your eyes and take three deep breaths.

Wiggle your fingers and toes.

Carry this gentle sense of surrender with you,

Ready to meet whatever comes next with compassion,

Grace and serenity.
