Welcome,
I'm really glad you're here.
Take a moment to arrive.
There is nothing you need to change right now.
Just a moment to meet yourself just as you are,
With kindness.
Whatever brought you to this moment,
Whatever today has been like,
You don't need to carry all of it right now.
This is a space just for you,
A few minutes to let your nervous system settle a little,
To remember that you're here,
Right now.
In this practice,
We begin not by turning inward,
But by noticing the world around you.
Sometimes,
The nervous system settles when it has a chance to look around.
So we start there.
You might begin by gently letting your eyes move around the room,
No need to focus on anything in particular,
Just allowing the eyes to wander,
Perhaps noticing colors,
Shapes,
And shadow.
This simple act of seeing can help the body notice,
I'm here.
I'm here.
Right now.
And for this moment,
That is enough.
And if it feels comfortable,
You might let your eyes rest for a moment on something neutral or pleasant,
An object,
A patch of light,
Allowing the eyes to receive what they see without needing to figure out anything at all.
And when it feels right,
You might begin to notice the sounds around you.
Right now.
What sounds can you hear around you right now?
Perhaps a sound close by,
And maybe a sound farther away,
Letting the ears receive the sounds around you,
Without effort,
Just noticing,
A sound arriving,
A sound fading,
Another sound appearing.
You might notice a small sense of settling,
The body beginning to sense where it is.
You might also notice the space around you,
The air in the room,
The openness all around you.
There is space in front of you,
Space behind you,
Space on either side,
Sometimes simply noticing space,
The body begins to soften,
Nothing closing in,
Just room to be here.
And when it feels natural,
You might begin to notice your body here,
The body sitting or lying here,
Breathing,
Existing within this space,
Just as it is today,
Nothing you change,
Just meeting this moment with a little kindness.
If the mind drifts away,
That's completely natural.
You simply notice,
And gently return to seeing,
To hearing,
To the space around you.
Again and again,
The nervous system remembers,
I'm here,
Right now,
And as we begin to close,
Let your awareness widen once more,
Seeing the room,
Hearing the sounds around you,
Feeling the simple presence of being here.
Take a moment now to acknowledge yourself,
Not for doing it perfectly,
There is no perfect here,
But for pausing,
For offering yourself even a few minutes of kindness.
That matters.
When you're ready,
You might gently shift or stretch,
Letting the eyes move naturally,
Slowly reorienting to your day.
Nowhere to rush,
Nothing to hold.
You're allowed to move gently through the world,
And to meet yourself with a little kindness along the way.
Thank you for practicing.
It's a gift to share this time with you.
