In this guided meditation, we address our Oceanic Nature: My dear ocean, recognize your depth of consciousness which is untouched by the waves and whirlpools appearing and disappearing on the surface. We , too, are like that Vast Pure Consciousness, never touched by the worries, concerns, and unhappiness created by the thoughts of our minds. Recognize your Self, Aatma, as pure, free, forever by meditating on the Knower, Space. Amaram Hum Madhuram.

Welcome to the Dearest Meditators Special thanks to Insight Timer A few months back,

I visited the south of India A place is very popular,

Known as Goa The weather is beautiful As I have said,

I live in high Himalayas The temperature really goes down in the November-December months,

The winter So,

I decided to go and visit some warmer part of the country Goa is your paradise At least I experience so It has the ocean,

Which I never see up here in the mountains It had palm trees I see apple trees and avocado trees up here in the Himalayas And Goa's weather was warm I was like a little girl going to the beach And the sand slipping from under my feet was a very special,

Special experience It created a delight,

A childlike delight,

I must say The coconut trees,

The coconut water by the beach And the sunshine and the vastness of the ocean With beautiful boats,

Quaint,

Quaint shacks,

We call them Or little huts on the beach All of this was creating a great sense of delight in me As I looked out into the ocean,

There is no end to the ocean Your vision just flies,

Your vision just extends into the infinity And that was peace Just being at the ocean and being still,

I sat down on the sand In a quiet area on the beach,

On a little shawl that I had taken And closed my eyes I remember or remembered a beautiful poem,

A song That I sang for years and years,

Which my father,

My Guruji,

Wrote The song was speaking to the ocean It was a description of the true nature of the ocean It was being described and addressed to the ocean O Sagar,

Sagar is ocean in Hindi Jal ke agar Agar means you are the storehouse of the water You have the immense wealth of this water That is your nature,

My dear ocean If this is your true nature,

The greatest wealth of this water that you have But my dear one,

When the waves arise,

You conclude that you are only the waves Whirlpools arrive,

You conclude the whirlpools are you Only the whirlpools are you The big storms come into the ocean You conclude that oh,

The storms are me Only the storms are me But my dear ocean,

You are the storehouse of the infinite wealth The same water evaporates It turns into the rain It turns into the little,

Little drops of the rain The same water sits on the ground,

In the grass,

On the grass As the dew drops But you conclude the raindrops are different The dew drops are different Thus this mechanism,

This functioning of the differences All around is the nature,

That is the obvious nature That manifests in front of you,

Oh my dear ocean But dhyan karo But it is said,

My dear ocean,

Please meditate Dear ocean,

Sit down and meditate Meditate on what?

Meditate on your deepest,

Most depth of your existence On the surface level,

All of these waves and eddies and whirlpools will arise But all along,

The depth of the ocean is always still It is unmoved,

Untouched by the boats that come on the surface It is unmoved by all the people that swim in it It is untouched by all the fish,

The whales,

The dolphins that come and dance in it The bottom of the ocean is forever still,

At peace and one Without any differences It is just one water Oh my dear human being,

You too are like the vast ocean You are the infinite wealth of that knowledge Of that power,

Of that grace With which you can live each moment with this state of unagitatedness Without any worry,

You can live your day without the waves of the mind Creating the whirlpools,

Completely involving you in their existence Oh my dear human mind,

You exist You have all the worries,

You have all the responsibilities You have all the projects of the day Dear one,

Continue to do them But don't get involved in them as the only reality of you Keep knowing that though on the surface level With your eyes open,

With your senses functioning With your mind functioning,

Your intellect creating decisions And all the experiences getting stored in your consciousness Remember,

The depth of your existence is like the depth of the ocean It is forever still,

It is forever at peace Knowing that there is only one truth,

Oneness There is the immense love that arises Love for that life which is one life in all We close our eyes daily and watch Watch the depth of that stillness that is there At first when we sit down,

As I am sitting on my cushion In my room,

In a lotus position Half lotus I shall say today With my eyes closed,

Just speaking,

Being And letting the words simply flow I'm speaking as a person sitting here Speaking into this microphone But I know the voice,

The sound that is coming out of my mouth And reaching your ears Is all traveling through one space One ocean water I am at this end You may be at another end But the ocean is one And that ocean is the ocean as the knower in us That knower is forever at rest It is forever at peace And we tap into it through the meditation Meditation on Amaram Ham,

Mathuram Ham Amaram Ham,

Mathuram Ham Amaram Ham,

Mathuram Ham It's a Sanskrit mantra It means the Ham is the sound Which is the sound of undying existence It never ever begins and it never ends When there is the realization and the knowledge Of something that is eternal There is the state of Mathuram There is the state of bliss The ocean water never began from somewhere The ocean water never dies or ends Thus that which is eternal is my true nature I recognize it in meditation as the knower The knower that knows the surface of the ocean The knower that knows the depth of the ocean The knower is one We meditate and realize the knower And realize the vastness,

The infinity The birthless and the deathless Free from beginning,

Free from end That eternal consciousness,

Knowledge Is me,

The knower Let us continue to swim in the depth of that knowledge Knowledge of the knower We continue,

You continue as long as you wish I will stop my speech now And let you swim in that state of peace and love Namaste
