My salutations to the beloved Guru,
Who is also my father,
Swami Shamji.
Guru is the one who enlightens us,
Guides us,
Takes us by the hand,
And lets us know what the truth is on which we are to walk as a human being,
Because that is the purpose of our existence.
Meditation is the way to get to that realization,
To that realized state of consciousness,
Where one recognizes,
I am not just this little boy or a little girl.
I am that infinite space,
Infinite pure consciousness,
With which I am able to live this life as a human child,
As a grown-up,
As an adult,
And as an old person.
All throughout,
The consciousness is guiding us.
The consciousness gets mixed with every form that comes,
And that which is the source is forgotten.
In simple words,
Our truth is as vast,
As infinite,
And as everlasting as the ocean water.
But when the waves arise,
We conclude that I am one wave,
And the very next wave that is wavering around me is my family,
My relation,
My sister,
My brother.
In this way,
We conclude all different waves and eddies and whirlpools,
And we see varieties of manifestation,
And we conclude each one is different.
We conclude that the quality and functioning of each one is different,
And yes,
It is different.
A wave that is higher,
You can surf that wave.
A simple little wave will not be able to help you to surf over it.
In the same way,
The purpose of the human incarnation,
As a different name,
As a different form,
Is simply having that wave consciousness.
But during this process,
We forget,
And we create a sense of division.
We create a sense of separation,
And we think,
Well,
I am a small wave,
You are a bigger wave,
And you are a whirlpool,
You are constantly agitated.
I don't like you.
In this way,
Liking and disliking develops.
Guruji brings our attention to that which I said in the beginning,
Is the source,
The pure consciousness.
Pure consciousness is like that ocean in which all the conscious beings are existing.
They are born as human children,
As a butterfly,
As a caterpillar,
As a bird,
As a moose.
All of this manifestation that is existing,
But they all have consciousness.
But human being is endowed with the intelligence to unfold his intelligence further.
Animals know how to exist,
How to maintain their existence,
Their body form.
But they have never been able to understand as to who it is that is moving their feet,
Who is grazing the grass,
Or who is going to drink water.
The human being is endowed with this immense power of unfolding the pure intelligence out of the daily intelligence.
My father,
My guru,
Has used that intelligence for the sake of bringing in our attention to the one who knows every action,
Every thought,
Every emotion.
Who is it that is knowing?
A flower.
I pick up a flower,
I know the flower,
But is it only the eyes?
The eyes are not able to see the flower unless the consciousness was there.
The consciousness is the mind.
We call it as the representative of that which is the reality.
The eyes might be there in a person who is no more,
Whom we call a dead body,
A dead person.
Eyes are there,
But they are not thinking,
They are not seeing anything.
So who is it in a conscious human being who is seeing the flower?
It is the mind,
We might say.
But who is knowing the mind?
We might say it's the intellect.
But then there is someone who is even knowing the intelligence of the human being.
Our thoughts and ideas that are stored in the intellect,
They come and go.
But there is someone that is always present.
And that being,
We call it as Gyata in Hindi,
We call it as Knower.
It is a beautiful word to place our awareness on and meditate on.
That I constantly know the things and I constantly think it is my mind that is knowing the things.
But Guru and I through Guruji have learned that that knower that knows the flower,
That knower that knows any emotion is actually that pure consciousness.
The pure consciousness is always present.
It never dies.
It never changes.
Pure consciousness functions as the waking state where we know everything.
Pure consciousness is still present in the dream state where everything is existing just as the waking state.
But it is all subtle.
It is subtler.
It is temporary.
It is short-lived.
And we might think I don't exist in deep sleep because I don't know anything.
But do we ever say I died in the deep sleep state?
No.
Who is it that is there in the deep sleep state and that being is ever present?
But the deep sleep comes,
The deep sleep state goes where there is no mind.
So we are free from worries.
We are free from any agitation.
But because it changes into waking state or dream state,
Therefore we introduce the fourth state of consciousness which is known as meditation.
Meditation on the knower is one of the ways I meditate on.
I always know I am aware of that pure consciousness that is ever present.
And I say the name of that pure consciousness is Amaramham Madhuramham.
Amaramham Madhuramham.
That is the mantra that my beloved Guruji who is my father has given to me.
Ever since my childhood I have meditated on it.
Amaramham Madhuramham.
It means pure consciousness or that which is I.
That is actually my reality.
It never dies.
It is forever blessed.
It is immortal.
It is blissful.
It is unchanging.
It is undying.
The body has constantly been changing.
My thoughts have always been changing.
But the one who knows the body changing,
The one who knows the thoughts changing,
He never changes.
And that is me.
In meditation I place my attention on that me,
The I.
That is the fourth state.
The name of that is Amaramham Madhuramham.
Unchanging.
Undying.
Me.
