Okay,

Good morning.

This is gonna be a five minute guided meditation and we're gonna focus on virtue today.

We're just gonna marinate on some of the virtues that,

If we're able to sort of lean into these,

They can help us be,

You know,

10% closer to the man that we'd like to be today.

So why don't you go ahead and take a seat.

Sit up straight.

You don't probably want to be laying down or slouching over.

Sit up straight with your spine tall and just get comfortable.

I want you to start taking some deep inhales until your lungs are really comfortably full and some deep exhales.

As we go through this,

I want you to just sort of keep breathing deeply.

Feel yourself in your seat while you breathe.

Hear the sounds around you outside or in the room or wherever.

Just sort of lock in here for just a couple minutes.

You can deal with all the stuff that's coming at you later today.

It's not going anywhere.

You can deal with that when you're done.

So now there's three virtues that I want to spend just a minute marinating on here.

The first virtue is that of courage.

As you continue to breathe,

I want you to think about your life,

The relationships in your life,

The work environment in your life,

The different roles that you play in your life,

And I want you to just sort of breathe into the image of what it might look like to be 10 or 20 percent more courageous as you go through your day today.

Sort of breathe into that.

Maybe you take on something at work that you're afraid of.

Maybe you volunteer for something that you're not sure you could even do.

Maybe you have a conversation with somebody at work or in your personal life that you've been afraid of having.

Just sort of imagine yourself stepping into that for a minute.

The next thing I want you to think about is related.

This idea of truth.

Where are you being subtly dishonest in your life?

Where could you do a better job of telling the truth?

That could be telling the truth at work or in your personal relationship,

Or it could just be the truth of an emotion that you've been burying.

We sometimes think that burying of the emotion is courage,

When in fact it is fear.

That's all it is.

Far more courageous to tell the truth and share your emotions with somebody.

It takes a lot more courage than sweeping it under the rug,

To be honest.

And lastly,

Just before we wrap up here,

I want you to think about humility.

It's a funny virtue.

Not a lot of people want to aspire to humility.

When I think of humility,

I think of it as not afraid to ask for help,

Not afraid to learn,

And I'm not afraid to not know everything.

If I can admit that I don't know everything and that I need some help,

It allows me to grow and change and become better.

You'd be shocked how long,

How far humility can take you.

Just breathe into that.

Courage,

Truth,

Humility.

Humility.

How can we take these virtues and apply them to our daily lives?

Now we'll finish here with a poem.

That's right,

A poem from a man named Dag Hammarskjold.

This is from his diary from the early 20th century.

It says,

I am being driven forward into an unknown land.

The past grows steeper,

The air colder and sharper.

A wind from my unknown goal stirs the strings of expectation.

Still the question,

The question,

Shall I ever get there?

There where life resounds,

A clear,

Pure note in the silence.

Thank you.

I hope you have a good day.
