Hey there,
Today's practice is all about cooling down and keeping it chill during the heat of summer.
As always,
Come into a comfy seat.
And let your shoulders drop.
Maybe move your neck side to side,
Loosen it up,
Front and back.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
Then a soft breath out.
And with your next inhale,
Imagine a cool,
Refreshing sensation entering your nose.
Like a gentle sea breeze or a sip of cold water on a hot day.
And as you exhale,
Let go of any heat,
Tension,
Or restlessness.
Continue breathing like this,
Letting cool air in as you imagine it.
And tension and unease flowing out.
Now if it feels right,
Gently massage your shoulders and neck.
Making little circles with the pads of your fingertips.
Placed at the tops of your shoulders and the sides of your neck.
Small,
Easy movement.
Full of awareness and presence.
Let your body soften as you melt away any tightness in this area.
Imagine gently squeezing it out of you.
As you continue doing this,
Imagine cooling elements around you.
Fresh watermelon.
Ice in your lemonade.
A soft breeze as you're swinging in your hammock.
Let your body respond to this sense of coolness,
Even if it's just imagined.
With each breath,
Feel a little lighter.
A little calmer.
A little cooler.
And let the mind slow down.
Let the body relax.
Take a few more easy breaths here.
Cool,
Refreshing inhales.
Gentle releasing exhales.
Let's seal it all up with a big breath in.
And let it go slowly,
Slowly.
Beautiful.
Come back to the room you're in refreshed and at ease.
Maybe add another little squeeze in your neck and shoulders for good measure.
Maybe you can end with a few shoulder circles or neck rolls.
And I hope you continue having a great day.
And until next time,
Take good care.
