So welcome everyone.
This is a short meditation practice.
It's about focus returning to the now.
So just take a moment.
Let yourself come to a comfortable seated or lying down position.
Begin to be aware of the present moment.
It's something that should be treasured.
It can allow you to relax and get out of your head and focus on really what you really want and need in life.
So soften your gaze without closing your eyes.
Not looking at anything in particular.
Allow for your eyes to just wander around.
Noticing how far away things are from you or how close they are.
What you are seeing is the now.
Our vision is the present moment and it should be cherished.
And your mind will wander and thinking about things in the past and things that will happen in the future.
But let's return to looking at something in your room that is casting a shadow.
Find anywhere where a shadow is resting and just notice its darkness.
Wonderful.
And then slowly returning to the now again.
If your mind has wandered and finding the light,
See the sources of light around you.
See how the light lays upon all the things in your surroundings.
The light is happening right now.
It is not in the past and is not in the future.
It is a constant of the now.
And allow your eyes to close now and begin remembering what you just saw in your surroundings.
Can you remember where the shadows are?
Great.
And can you remember where the lights were?
Everything you saw is still there even though your eyes are closed.
It is in the now,
This very moment.
The shadows in the light are always there in some form or another no matter where you are or what you are doing.
And then gently,
Slowly now open your eyes again and look around.
Right now you see the present moment and your mind has the wonderful ability to remember and to plan.
But we must also cherish our ability to be in the moment in joining our surroundings.
Returning to the now is a wonderful technique for focus.
It helps you clear your mind so that you can focus on your goals and your dreams.
Good job today and remember to return to the now whenever you want to.
And this is the end of the practice.
Thank you very much for practice with me.
You
