We live in a world that teaches us to pour our energy outward, measuring worth through achievements, comparison, and self-sacrifice. This can lead to self-criticisms and fear that kindness to ourselves is indulgent or weak. As a result, we tend to feel unworthy of love. But as Buddha reminds us, "Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shred." So, be a lamp unto yourself - softly, patiently - and let your light guide you home to warmth and wholeness. May you feel worthy of love. May you be gentle with yourself. May you accept yourself as you are.
