Welcome to this walking meditation.
My name is Kimberly.
As you are out walking and moving forward,
Notice the path beneath your feet.
It might be pavement,
A sidewalk,
Or a trail.
Right now your mind is likely full,
Like carrying a mental backpack.
The dinner you have to cook,
The presentation due next week,
Finances,
Household chores,
Worry about work,
About family,
Or perhaps it's something else.
Don't push these thoughts away.
Don't fight them.
But notice their weight and acknowledge that they are there walking with you.
Now I want you to use your visualization.
Take the first thing that's bothering you.
The very first thing that comes to your mind.
See it as a picture floating out in front of you.
Now watch it gently float off to the side on your left.
Watch it land softly in the grass or the dirt that is next to but not outside the path where you are walking.
We aren't dissolving it.
We are just placing it there on the ground.
It's being set aside so you can walk a little more lightly.
Now take the next one.
The next thought that comes in your mind.
Watch it float out in front of you and land softly on the ground to your right.
Now the next one.
The next thought that comes in your mind.
Let it float.
Watch it float out in front of you and land on the ground off to your left.
For each expectation,
Each to do,
Each flicker of noise that is bothering you.
Gently set it on the ground off to the side of your path.
One by one as you are walking today and grounding this mental baggage start to notice if your path feels clear or if your mental baggage starts to feel lighter.
Walk here for a few minutes as you continue to clear your path.
Now take a deep breath in and exhale out a sigh of relief.
Feel your shoulders drop.
Feel a straight alignment in your spine as you walk upright with clarity and a sense of grounding in your path.
Now notice what's out in front of you right now in nature.
Look at what's actually there.
Notice if there are trees and notice that these trees aren't trying to grow.
They simply have a blueprint of life inside them that knows exactly what to do.
They don't have a to-do list yet they reach for the sky.
Now notice if there are any flowers or other vegetation.
How do they know it's springtime and that it's time to grow or when it's wintertime and it's time to rest.
There is an intelligence,
This blueprint that exists in nature that doesn't require thinking or worrying.
It just is.
And when the wind blows or a storm comes the trees,
The vegetation,
And the flowers don't resist against this wind.
They go with the flow and allow whatever it is that is coming to simply just come.
Often over time they grow more resilient to this wind.
That same intelligence and blueprint that exists in nature is the same source that gives you your breath and your heartbeat.
And the things that we placed alongside the path you are walking those were just mental fluctuations just like the wind in nature.
These mental fluctuations and these thoughts that are bothering you are not truths.
The beauty in front of you right now,
The green of the grass the song of the birds the flow of any sound of water the height of the trees.
This is the reality and this is the truth.
Look around you the simple fact of just being and allowing what is to simply flow without suffering and resistance is truth.
You aren't just walking on a path in front of you alongside nature.
You are a part of the flow and the beauty of this path.
Nature is a miracle.
Beauty is a miracle.
But you are also a miracle because you are part of it.
Absorb this oneness in through the inhale of your breath and let your heart accept this truth as you conclude your walk.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
Namaste.
