A very simple practice that we so often forget about.
Take a deep inhale and exhale.
Inhale deeply and exhale.
Slowing down your breath,
Sending a signal to your body that this is time to take care of yourself.
If your eyes aren't closed yet gently close your eyes.
Inhale one more time and exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
Let go of the tension in your shoulders,
In your belly,
In your legs.
Start feeling heavier and closer to the ground.
Now place your left hand on your right shoulder and your right hand on left shoulder and give yourself the biggest hug you've ever given.
Keep hugging tightly,
Tightly.
Like you're hugging the dearest person,
The most precious person in your life.
Embrace that person.
Say I love you.
Now say I love you out loud.
Keep saying these words.
Listen to these words.
Stay with these words.
Remember who you are saying it to.
Smile in response.
Knowing that you're loved.
Once you're ready you can let go of your hug.
Place your hands on top of your knees.
Take a deep inhale and exhale.
When you're ready you can slowly open your eyes and look around.
Look around with new eyes.
See the objects around you,
The colors.
And thank yourself for this practice.
