Dear friend,
It's a rainy day and I've decided to go for a walk.
Being outdoors helps me get out of my limited mind,
See the bigger picture,
Remember the world is much wider than my thoughts.
Come,
Stand under the umbrella and share this moment with me,
With the birds that are singing in the small forest down the hill.
There is comfort in their singing,
A sign that all is well,
That we are safe.
The rain pats rhythmically on the umbrella,
There is a quote on it that says,
The world is yours,
The world is yours,
What do you think of that?
Does the world belong to us?
Do these birds own the sky?
Do we own them?
Perhaps the truth is more simple than that,
That the world is us,
That we are the world.
We are these birds,
This sky,
This rain,
This forest.
We are the wild boars that forage for food at night,
The tides that collapse on the shore under the influence of the moon,
The branches that break when the wind blows too hard.
The wind itself.
It's so easy to forget this sometimes,
When our busy minds make us fight,
Make us desire control more than anything,
Make us so certain that we are as separate as two different galaxies.
But on a day like this,
I let the sky and the forest remind me,
And my heart opens up a little,
And I find you there,
My friend.
Your physical body is far away,
But that doesn't mean anything.
You are here with me,
With these birds,
Under this umbrella.
You and I were forged in the same source,
And there is a bit of us in one another,
A spark of life,
A shared breath.
We are in this together,
Breathing as one,
Feeling as one,
Dreaming and hoping next to each other,
Looking up at the sky,
Touching the earth,
Blessing the birds in the forests and all the other beating hearts that make this planet come with life,
One with the world.
Thank you for being here,
Dear friend.
Thank you for being part of this web of life.
Have a beautiful day.
