You're here in this sacred space,
Safe.
Close your eyes and place a hand on your heart.
Take a deep breath,
Hold and exhale.
Another deep breath,
Hold and exhale.
Once more,
Deep breath and exhale.
Breathe normally now.
Feel the surface beneath you,
Feel your body resting against it.
Keep the focus on your breath and let your mind dissolve.
Observe the thoughts that come and go and come and go and let them float around as they please.
This is the mind's role,
Analysing,
Finding solutions,
Keeping you safe.
Thank your mind for all the work it does for you and feel your attention coming down from your mind towards your eyes,
Your nose,
Your mouth,
Going down your neck,
Towards your chest and finally your heart.
Feel the warmth of your heart,
Feel the steady beats and thank it for keeping you alive beat by beat.
Cut your heart a few times and feel that gratitude.
This place right here in your heart is where your inner child lives.
Your inner child is your essence,
Your purest version and they need your attention.
They need you to be a parent.
They need you to take care of them the way a parent would.
This child within you has lived through so many experiences.
Sometimes they feel lost and confused.
Sometimes they need a warm embrace.
Sometimes they simply need to play,
Have fun,
Be joyful.
Now you can go to them,
Talk to them and give them what they need.
Go now,
Visualise a dark red corridor extending before you.
It feels warm here,
Warm and welcoming like you're coming home.
Go to the end of this corridor until you find a door.
This is your inner child's door.
Notice its details.
What colour is it?
What materials is it made of?
Does it have any decorations?
What's the doorknob like?
Extend your hand and open the door.
It leads to a bedroom and inside this bedroom you find a child version of you.
One that has been growing up with you over the years but whose essence is still that of a child.
Upon seeing you,
They smile and welcome you in.
They've been waiting for you.
They show you their room full of excitement.
Finally you're here.
You look into their eyes.
These eyes have seen so much and yet they look at the world with a kind of fresh innocence that is endearing.
The world needs this innocence.
You need this innocence.
Sit down with your inner child.
Feel love and compassion for them.
Sometimes they carry heavy burdens and they're just a child.
Sometimes they're terrified as they're chased by the ghosts of the past.
You're here for them now.
Give them all your attention,
Love and care.
Take a deep breath and speak.
Ask what do you need from me right now?
And whatever their answer is,
Give them exactly that.
Is it a hug?
Is it kind words?
Is it courage?
Reassurance?
Are they asking you to have more fun,
To find joy in the smallest things?
What is it that they need?
What is it that you need?
Perhaps they don't know what they need right now and that's okay.
We don't always have the answers.
Just be here with them,
Honouring their presence,
Honouring this space.
It's okay to sit together in silence.
It's okay to just be.
Your inner child will always live here inside your heart and every time they feel lonely,
Sad or fearful,
You can come back to this place and say,
I feel your pain,
Your fear,
Your sadness and I want you to know that I'm here for you and I'm going to look after you.
I want you to know you're safe and everything is going to be okay.
Tell them now,
Hug this child who is also you and give them all your love.
Show them love is pure,
Warm,
Generous,
Expansive.
Feel your heart getting warmer and warmer because your inner child is safe and everything is going to be okay.
Breathe deeply and exhale,
Inhale and exhale and one more time,
Inhale and exhale.
Drop your heart three times as if you were rocking a baby that was resting on your chest.
Stay there,
Stay there and when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Come back to the present moment.
Look around you and observe something different you hadn't noticed before.
Observe your body's sensations and feel proud of being where you are,
Here and now,
Traveling to your deepest self,
Parenting your inner child.
Welcome home.
