A meditation with your past and future self.
Let us begin by finding a comfortable seat.
Allow your body to feel supported and gently close your eyes or find a soft gaze.
Take a deep breath in and exhale slowly.
A deep breath in and a long breath out.
Begin to notice the rhythm of your breath and the sensations in your body.
Settle into a comfortable and loving heart space for yourself.
Visualize yourself sitting in this position,
In this space,
In this moment.
As you start to feel a deep sense of relaxation,
Bring to mind an image.
An image of your younger past self.
It could be a moment from four or five years ago or even further back in the past.
Where do you see yourself?
Notice your face,
The clothes that you were wearing.
Notice what it is you were doing.
How does your hair look?
What was the expression on your face?
Notice where you were,
Who you were with,
And what you were doing.
Take a moment to approach your past self and take this opportunity to offer a message to your past self.
It could be a word of encouragement,
A piece of advice,
Or a message of love.
Offer it to your past self.
From your heart,
Share a smile or an embrace to your past self.
Spending this moment together.
Whenever you're ready,
You can thank your past self and say goodbye.
Gently bring your attention to the space around your heart.
Spend a moment here,
Anchored in your breath.
Take a deep breath in and a slow breath out.
Now,
Look forward to your future self.
Bring your mind to some place in time where you are older,
Wiser.
See yourself a few steps ahead.
Step into a place wherever you are able to see.
You are living with the wisdom,
The experience of all your years from the younger self to now and into the future.
You hold the wisdom you've collected and the life lessons you've mastered.
See yourself in all your radiance,
Energy,
Warmth,
Kindness,
And peace.
Everything that's come to you over years of gaining different perspectives.
Years of giving and living from your heart.
Notice where you are sitting or standing as a future self.
Maybe outside in a garden or in a home somewhere.
Perhaps you are alone or with other people.
Notice the background.
What you are wearing,
And what's the expression on your face now.
How are you holding yourself?
How does your hair look?
What do you see when you look into your eyes of the future?
Take a few steps closer to this future you.
In your wisdom,
In this space of your embodied future,
I invite you to take a few steps closer.
Take a few steps closer to this future self of yours.
Your future self says,
Welcome.
I've been waiting for you.
You have the opportunity to connect with this future self.
