Welcome.
This is a simple meditation designed for everyone,
Especially for those beginning their personal journey for wellness.
So let us begin.
Find a quiet place to sit,
Preferably in a chair or perhaps the bed or on the floor.
Gently close your eyes and be sitting with your back upright,
Your spine elongated,
With your chest open.
Pull the shoulders back a few times if you like.
Relax the jaw and the muscles in your face.
Now,
Take a deep breath in from the nose,
Filling up the belly.
Feel it filling up your chest and hold the breath at the top.
And a big release of the breath through the mouth.
Once again,
Let's take a deep breath in from the nose,
Fill up the belly,
Rise up to the chest,
Hold the breath at the top,
And a big release of the breath through the mouth.
Now let's take one final deep breath in from the belly,
Rise up to the chest,
Hold the breath at the top,
And a big exhale through the mouth.
Notice how it feels in your body to let go as you exhale,
Making room for that next new wonderful breath.
As you return to your normal breathing,
I invite you to ask yourself,
What does wellness or being well mean to me?
What does wellness look like in my life?
For some,
Wellness may mean mental,
Physical,
And spiritual healing.
For others,
It may simply mean taking the time to do things that bring them comfort or joy.
Just know that you,
Taking the time and opening your heart to meditate in the here and now,
Is contributing to your overall wellbeing.
You own the light inside of you that grows and shines brighter with every experience of pure wellness that you feel.
Be curious of any sensations in your body right now.
They may be pleasant or unpleasant,
But just allow the sensations to just be.
Now I invite you to visualize a long winding path full of ups and downs with no clear end in sight.
You are standing at what appears to be the beginning of this wonderful path.
What does this path look like to you?
It could be nestled within nature,
Or perhaps this path appears more dreamlike.
As you take a deep breath in,
You effortlessly take your first step onto this path.
As you release your breath,
You notice that your breath has created a glowing ball of light in front of you.
This light illuminates everything that is in front of you.
Welcome to your path.
This is the path that you have created.
Let the light guide you on an endless journey of experiencing wellness.
Imagine the people,
Places or things that bring you warm feelings of love,
Happiness and joy.
And place whatever comes to your mind along your path of wellness.
They don't have to be in any specific order,
Just know that they are there ready for you to experience on your journey at your own pace.
May every step you take on your path bring you clarity,
Healing and peace.
To your mind,
To your body and to your spirit.
You may repeat the following affirmations out loud or in your head.
I am on my wellness journey.
My wellness journey is unique to who I am.
No matter life's ups and downs,
I can keep going.
The light I create will be my guide.
As we come to an end on this meditation,
Know that you can come back to this meditation and come back to your path whenever you like.
Your path of wellness is always with you.
I wish you breath on your journey.
Take a final deep breath in and release.
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes if you like.
And when you are ready,
You can open your eyes.
