In this guided meditation, we’ll take inspiration from Parker Palmer’s "Healing the Heart of Democracy" as we explore how to ground ourselves amid political and social tension. We invite you to take a few deep, conscious breaths, connecting to this moment, to your heart, and to a sense of openness that can hold everything you’re feeling. We’ll explore how, instead of “breaking apart,” our hearts can “break open” to hold complexity, resilience, and compassion. This session is a practice of creating space within ourselves, so we can face challenging news or conversations about politics with a sense of inner peace and purpose. As part of the “Election Sanity Saver” series, this meditation helps you build the tools to meet political stress with centered awareness. Each session builds on the idea that by holding compassion within ourselves, we contribute to a more compassionate world. Together, we’ll learn to face the election season with calm, courage, and an open heart.
