Hello,

My name is Viola,

And welcome to this children's story.

I've called this story,

The Sunflower Who Helped the Bee Sleep.

I hope you enjoy it,

And if you do,

I have other stories and poems about creatures in my library.

Hope to see you there.

The Sunflower Who Helped the Bee Sleep Something very interesting happened outside in a garden one afternoon last month in June.

A tiny seed was planted deep in the ground.

It was warmed by the sun and pulled by the moon.

And then the little seed was watered by the rain.

And one day it sprouted into a tall,

Golden sunflower,

A very happy sunflower,

And her name was Henrietta.

Soon after,

A buzzy,

Funny,

Black and yellow bumblebee came humming by,

And he said,

Hello,

My name is Fred.

Hello,

Fred,

Nice to meet you,

My name is Henrietta.

What are you doing,

And why are you walking so hard?

I'm pollinating the flowers,

Said Fred,

Gathering all the magic dust.

I'm just getting my work done,

But I've been doing this for hours and hours,

And I really do need a rest,

For I am tired.

And Henrietta bent her soft petals down,

And she whispered,

Fred,

Take a nap in the middle of my cozy heart.

And the bumblebee wriggled his little body down and down,

Sinking to get nice and warm.

And all that was left was his fuzzy,

Funny bottom,

Just peeking out.

And soon he fell asleep,

Listening to the sound of Henrietta's sweet heart beat.

When Fred woke up,

He stretched,

And then he yawned,

And then he fluttered his wings,

And he kicked back his heels.

He had gotten all his energy back.

So he lifted off,

And he called out to thank his friend,

Henrietta,

And then all you heard was buzz,

Buzz,

Buzz,

Buzz,

As the pissy bee flew away.

And the sunflower waved goodbye,

And she felt tired herself.

So she closed down her eyes and took in a breath,

Swayed in the breeze,

And then she let her breath out and fell fast asleep.

And the whole garden,

They were tired too.

And everyone took a long summertime nap.

The end.

I took that long deep breath with Henrietta and closed my eyes to the music at the end. Marvelous
