Find a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose,
Filling your belly with air.
Hold for a moment and then slowly exhale through your nose,
Letting go of any tension.
Continue to breathe normally,
Allowing yourself to relax more and more with each breath.
Imagine yourself standing at the edge of a lush,
Vibrant forest.
The air is fresh and you can hear the gentle rustling of leaves and the distant sound of birds singing.
As you begin to walk along a soft,
Winding path,
Notice the richness of the greenery around you.
Feel the ground beneath your feet,
Solid and supportive.
As you walk deeper into the forest,
You become more attuned to the beauty and tranquility that surrounds you.
Sunlight filters through the canopy,
Casting patterns on the ground.
The scent of pine and earth fills the air,
Grounding you in this peaceful moment.
After a while,
You arrive at a clearing in the forest.
In this serene space,
You see a child on your left,
Playing with a toy.
The toy looks familiar and as you start walking towards the child,
You begin to realize that it's your favourite childhood toy,
And the child is the five-year-old version of yourself.
The child looks up at you with wide,
Innocent eyes,
Full of curiosity and a hint of vulnerability.
As you approach the child,
Kneel down.
Look into their eyes and see the pure,
Unguarded essence of your younger self.
Gently,
You reach out and hug the child,
Offering them comfort and love.
Whisper words of reassurance,
Telling them that they are safe,
Loved and cherished.
Feel the child's tension melt away as they relax in your embrace,
Absorbing the love and protection you offer.
You hear someone walking behind you.
You release the child and you turn around.
It's an older person and as they get closer to you,
You notice that it's an older,
Wiser version of yourself,
Around 80 years old,
With a warm,
Knowing smile and eyes that are full of joy and emotion.
This wise version of yourself has lived a long and fulfilling life,
Having experienced many joys and challenges.
They have a message for you,
A piece of wisdom to guide you on your journey.
Listen carefully as they speak,
Their voice calm and soothing.
Remember my dear,
That you are enough just as you are.
Embrace your true self and let go of the need for external validation.
Trust in your inner wisdom and follow your heart.
Love yourself unconditionally,
For you are deserving of all the love and happiness this world has to offer.
Let these words sink in deeply,
Feeling their truth resonate within you.
The child,
Now feeling safe and loved,
Gives you a final hug before gently fading away.
The older version of yourself smiles warmly,
Nodding in approval and then also fades into the background,
But you feel a profound sense of connection and wholeness.
Take a deep breath and repeat the following affirmations to yourself,
Either silently or out loud.
I am worthy of love and respect,
Honour and accept my true self.
I deserve happiness and fulfilment.
I am enough just as I am.
I love myself unconditionally.
I trust in my abilities and strength.
I am beautiful inside and out.
I radiate positive energy and attract positive outcomes.
I am deserving of all good things.
I embrace my uniqueness and celebrate my individuality.
I am gentle and patient with myself.
I forgive myself for past mistakes and learn from them.
I deserve kindness and understanding.
I am doing the best I can and that is enough.
I treat myself with the same compassion I offer to others.
I acknowledge my feelings without judgement.
