So we'll start by reading a piece from this book,
Letters from the Beloved,
And then we'll elaborate on that.
Don't desire.
Be.
Desire creates a feeling of lack.
Desire says this moment isn't enough.
And this creates suffering.
Don't desire.
Dream.
Dreaming is nothing but being.
Look at the word become.
First you must be,
And then it comes.
Your being is the reality.
The outer manifestation is merely a consequence,
Wheeled by the curtain of time.
So just be.
Embody the vision now.
Be present.
And what you need will come.
Through being,
Not striving.
We have made everything a pursuit.
Whether it's peace,
It has to be pursued.
Whether it's happiness,
Love,
It has to be pursued.
It is something out there that we have to look for and find.
There is a story I'm reminded of.
It's,
I believe,
A silky story.
But there was this one boy.
Who used to live by the seashore and he used to go and sit at the seashore for long times and whenever he used to sit there seagulls used to fly around him and come close to him.
Looking at this,
One day the boy's father told the boy that I see the seagulls really like you.
Can you get one for me?
And the boy next day when he goes.
The seagulls don't come close.
They dance,
But far away from it.
I found this story very beautiful.
Because this is exactly the case with happiness or love or peace.
When we seek something.
Clearly it means there is a lack in this moment.
And when there is a lack in this moment,
We are discontent.
We tend to pursue this in the outer world.
And we may find scraps of it here and there.
Which doesn't last for long,
And then we keep on seeking the next thing.
In the story that we just heard,
The boy when he wanted to.
.
.
To catch hold of it,
The bird,
The seagull.
The seagulls wouldn't come close.
But when he was simply relaxed the other days,
The seagulls automatically come close.
Happiness or peace or love.
It's very subtle.
It's not something you pursue.
It is something you become sensitive to.
Because it's already here.
We simply have to be sensitive to it.
When we become a seeker.
And we seek something outside.
We are rejecting this moment.
When we are rejecting this moment or in a state of non-acceptance,
There is this density we feel there is the sense of I is very strengthened.
And you become desensitized.
To life.
We become desensitized to happiness.
We become desensitized to love.
We become desensitized to be.
To the rays of the sun,
The songs of the bird.
The breeze,
The flowers,
The beauty that's around and within.
You're completely desensitized because you're caught up.
Non-acceptance.
Leads us to get caught up in our thoughts.
And because we are caught up,
We miss out on life,
Which is always happening now.
Because we miss out on life,
There is suffering.
But dreaming.
It's big.
Embodying the vision.
Means feeling it within.
If love is what we desire,
Then it's a signal or a sign to us that there is a lack of love being felt.
And all we have to do is simply feel or be sensitive to the love that we are.
If we find ourselves seeking happiness.
And it's a sign that we have to actually reconnect.
And be sensitive to the happiness that we already have.
If you're looking for prosperity.
And it means that.
.
.
You have to.
Feel the inner prosperity.
These desires can often be a very useful sign.
For us to recognize or realize that I am not an attunement.
Who am I?
And when we create that inner state,
When we experience that happiness or love within,
Then the outer world starts reflecting that.
Automatically.
There's nothing to pursue out there.
The outer world is nothing but a reflection of the inner state.
Caveat here is that the outer world and the inner state is separated by time.
So we see our outer world.
And we use that as evidence to feel how we feel.
Not realizing that this is simply a result of the past.
And this present is how I feel right now here.
Therefore our attention always has to be on the self.
Or no attention is on.
Pulled away by thoughts.
That's when the attention can be directed to the self.
Which is always here.
The silent being.
And when we attentive the being,
All that we're looking for is felt,
Because in reality,
All that we're looking for.
Is the being.
But we don't realize it.
So we keep on looking for these.
Things outside for completion,
Contentment,
Peace,
Love,
Happiness,
Prosperity.
Everything is seeked outside.
But the real search is of the self.
That's what we all need.
Are pulled towards.
We want to experience the self.
And its qualities,
But not knowing so how to do that,
We end up going after.
Alternatives which brings about these temporary experiences and never these deep,
True experiences,
Which is always at our disposal.
It's just a moment away.
Just this moment,
Just being attentive here,
And it's accessible.
And from this space of fullness.
One can dream.
And this dreaming is not.
Seeking,
This dreaming is being.
