In this episode I cover the 1 / 4 Human Design Profile that’s all about combining a love for learning with the power of relationships. People with this profile can be incredibly influential over their networks through mastering and sharing what they’ve researched. You may have this profile yourself or you may recognize it in someone you know. Understanding ourselves and our loved ones through the lens of the profile gives us a lot of insight into how we and/or they fulfill potential. If you’re not a 1 / 4 profile but you have either a 1 or a 4 in your own profile (1 / 3, 2 / 4, 4 / 1, 4 / 6 or 5 / 1) you automatically have resonance with the 1 / 4s in your life and you naturally understand the part of their profile that you share. I’ll go deeper into resonance in a future episode.

One of the most influential minds of our time was a 1-4 profile.

He spent years investigating something that he was super passionate about and laying a solid foundation.

He was known for his deep curiosity,

His commitment to research,

And he was not content just scratching the surface.

He spent years working alone,

Often unseen,

Developing his ideas until he felt that he had a firm understanding.

Once his theories were established,

He shared them with his network,

The scientific community.

And at first he was met with some skepticism,

But over time,

As the right connections and circumstances expanded,

His network grew.

With the confirmation of his predictions during the solar eclipse of 1919,

His ideas spread quickly,

Influencing not only the scientific community,

But the general public.

His research laid a strong foundation that revolutionized science,

And his relationships and influence allowed those ideas to ripple through society,

Leaving a lasting legacy.

His theory?

Relativity.

His name?

Albert Einstein.

In today's episode,

I'll cover the 1-4 profile.

I'll go deeply into both of these lines individually,

And then how they work together to form the 1-4 profile.

We'll discuss common pitfalls that can show up in this profile,

Especially in business,

And also how to overcome those pitfalls so that you can be on purpose and fulfill your potential.

Welcome to Heart-Centered Human Design,

Emotional Intelligence,

And Conscious Business,

The show for heart-centered entrepreneurs that want meaningful success and work-life balance so that they can make up every day feeling empowered,

Inspired,

And supported by work and life.

I'm your host,

Vanessa Najda,

Human design nerd,

Mentor,

And business coach,

And I'm so excited to share this amazing system with you so that you can live your best possible life.

The profile in human design is a huge part of who you are and how you fulfill your purpose.

It tells you a lot about your learning style,

Your relationship style,

And how you best get your work out into the world so it can really make the difference that you were born to make.

I'll be covering both Line 1 and Line 4 in detail here,

And if you really want to dive deeply into how this shows up,

There are separate episodes for each line in Season 1.

Make sure to check out Episode 30 for Line 1 and Episode 33 for Line 4.

The 1-4 profile is a personal profile.

There are 12 profiles.

Seven of them are considered personal,

And what this means is that anybody that has the 1-4 profile or a personal profile has a personal destiny,

And they have to really become solid in themselves,

Learn through their own introspection in order to connect with others.

So it's always themselves first before they connect to others.

So doing personal work,

Introspection is really important for personal profiles in order for them to really have the impact that they were born to have.

So let's start with the first line,

And this is the conscious aspect of the profile.

What that means is that anybody that has the first line in the conscious position is likely going to be very aware of this aspect of their design.

It's something they're likely comfortable with,

Something that they know about themselves,

And is easily integrated into their design.

The first line is the investigator,

The research.

The first line moves from a place of weakness and insecurity to strength and security through building a solid foundation,

Which they build through researching,

Gathering information,

Diving really deep,

Going into all of the rabbit holes of the things that they are very interested in.

When they have this information,

That is when they feel secure and when they feel strong and ready to share what they have learned with the world,

And they are meant to share what they are researching with the world.

Now,

One of the things that the first line has to be careful of is not getting stuck in the research.

There can be the sense of insecurity or imposter syndrome,

Thinking that they don't know enough and that they're not ready to share yet,

Which can be detrimental in business because you have to put out what you know in order to make an impact,

In order to connect.

What you want to really be aware of if you have a first line in your profile and if you're a 1-4 is that this is a lifelong process for you.

You are always going to be researching,

You're always going to be diving deep,

And you want to get to that place where you can implement while you continue to research,

While you continue to refine,

And it is okay to refine over time.

I have a first line in my profile,

I'm not a 1-4,

I'm a 5-1,

But this is something I have done in the various different things that I have really researched and gone deep on in my life that I have taught to others is that over time I continue to refine in my work,

My expertise becomes more refined,

And that is something I have learned to be comfortable with.

It is essential for you as well if you have a first line in your profile.

Remember the research is never going to be done but you do actually have to move and put something out there if you're going to have a business and if you're going to have the impact that you were meant to have.

The fourth line is the unconscious line in the 1-4 profile and in traditional human design this one is known as the opportunist.

In VG5 you like to call this the influencer and I like to think of the fourth lines as the networkers.

Now the opportunist name which doesn't necessarily sound wonderful,

Really all it means is that fourth lines are people that receive a lot of their opportunities through their networks and through people that they already know or that they have some connection to through their existing and established networks.

They are very influential over their networks when they're living in alignment and their relationships are super important to them.

So anybody that has a fourth line in their profile is going to really be relationship focused.

They likely have lifelong friends.

They may be the ones that are on the phones regularly connecting with their networks,

Spending time catching up with old friends.

I have a lot of fourth lines in my life.

Actually my partner is a fourth line and we did meet through a mutual friend.

So we connected through his network and my brother,

My sister-in-law also fourth lines and they also place so much emphasis on their relationships and really making sure that they keep up those connections.

So connections and relationships are absolutely essential for fourth lines and one of the fears that can show up for them is the fear of rejection.

That one can be really big for fourth lines.

Now some things to consider is that old adage or that saying of you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.

This is especially true for fourth lines and they can be rather fixed and they don't necessarily like change.

However,

It's so important to remember that your networks,

Your relationships are so important and being with the right people,

Spending time with,

Connecting,

Investing yourself with the right people is essential for your success.

So if you have a fourth line in your profile,

You do want to ask yourself,

Am I with the right people?

Am I with the right network?

Are these people that I really want to be connected with that are bringing me the right opportunities that I can be influential over?

And also watching out because that fear of rejection can really keep you from sharing your gifts and your talents and what is exciting and important for you because you might be afraid of that rejection.

If you think back of Albert Einstein and developing his theory of relativity and being met with skepticism,

He overcame that fear.

He continued to do his work and it became something that really revolutionized science and consciousness really to the way that we understand it at this point in time.

So you do want to really watch out for that fear of rejection and do that internal work that building that strong,

Solid sense of self and human design helps you so much with this.

Number one is always following your strategy and authority.

Now that sounds really simple and it's often been explained in really simple terms.

It does take some time to really understand and embody following a strategy and authority and remember it's not always going to be easy.

Sometimes your authority is going to tell you to do something that could impact your relationships or your networks.

It could have you change your networks and that's not going to be easy.

However,

If it's the correct thing for you to do in order to really be on purpose and fulfill your potential,

It's important that you do it and your authority will confirm what is correct for you.

Now bringing the 1-4 profile together.

Somebody that has a 1-4 profile has the potential to be incredibly influential over their networks,

Over the people that they know through their research and their investigation.

They are meant to share what they know,

What they have studied,

What they have learned in order to make the world a better place by influencing their networks.

And again,

If we go back to Einstein,

He influenced the scientific community and that rippled out into the world and changed the world in so many different ways.

Some things to really watch out for here is if we go back to the insecurity of the first line and the fear of rejection of the fourth line is either not sharing what you know or not feeling like you know enough and getting lost in your research and not sharing anything.

So you can't be influential of your network because you are hiding behind your research,

Behind your investigation.

You're not putting anything out there.

Remember,

Following your strategy and authority,

Really getting embodied in what that means for you and learning to trust that your body,

Your authority will let you know what is correct for you is an absolutely essential part of the process and what makes human design so practical.

You also want to be sure that you are in the right networks,

That you're connected with the right people.

And there are so many ways of doing this.

You could join networking groups,

Go to meetups,

And also really use social media as a networking tool.

So many people today just use social media more just for broadcasting and putting things out there,

But it is meant to be social.

So actually connecting with your network on social media,

Connecting with your followers,

And I'm not talking about cold DMing and trying to sell to somebody in the DMs.

I'm just talking about actually getting to know people and what they're about,

Sharing what you're about,

And expanding your network in those ways,

In person,

Through social media,

Online,

And finding the people that are correct for you.

Remembering to follow your strategy and authority to know who is correct for you and who isn't,

And being willing to change your networks if that is necessary.

The one and the four are both foundational lines in the Chinese I Ching,

Which is where this comes from.

And the foundational lines,

They can be very fixed.

So there can certainly be a level of stubbornness here,

And they can be fairly slow to change,

And that is okay.

Embracing the fact that you might take some time to make a change is completely correct for you.

Leaning back and just surrendering into your strategy and authority to let you know when it is time to make a change is really important.

And as you go through that deconditioning process,

It's going to become easier to make changes because you will have so much evidence built up from previous experiences when you have followed your strategy and authority to make changes that have led you to where you are today.

So that's it on the one and four profile.

I would love to hear how this landed for you.

Please leave me a comment and let me know what came up for you.

Are you a one for a profile?

This is a fairly rare profile,

So there's not that many of you out there.

Do you know a one for a profile?

Please share in the comments and also be sure to follow or subscribe wherever you are watching or listening.

It makes such a big difference and I just love sharing this information with you.

And I will see you in the next episode.
