Hey darling,
Welcome to this walking meditation.
If you're not outside just yet,
Go ahead and slip on your shoes,
Maybe grab a jacket,
Maybe your pup's leash,
Or wave to your teen as you step out the door.
However your walk begins today,
Let it begin with intention.
As you take your first few steps,
Take a big full inhale through your nose,
And slowly exhale through your mouth.
Feel that darling,
That's fresh air,
That's presence,
That's life meeting you right here.
Now tune in to what's around you.
Feel your feet hitting the pavement,
Or maybe it's a soft beach beneath you,
Or a rocky trail.
Now,
With each careful step,
Notice the texture of the ground,
Solid,
Shifting,
Steady beneath you.
Feel the wind brushing against your face,
Or playing through your hair.
Look around.
Maybe you see trees reaching towards the sky,
Or waves dancing in the ocean,
Or even mountains standing quiet and tall in the distance.
Perhaps you're in a busy city,
Where your headphones have gently muted the chaos,
Created a little bubble of peace in the noise.
Whatever your view,
Take it in.
Let it be part of your meditation.
There's nothing to change,
Just notice.
Take a moment to truly arrive here,
In this body,
On this path,
In this breath.
This isn't a race,
There's nowhere to be but here.
With each step,
You're arriving deeper into this moment,
Breath by breath,
Step by step,
Let the mind settle,
Let your shoulders drop,
And let your heart soften.
You don't have to do anything but walk and breathe.
What a gift it is to be here,
To move your body and to feel your breath,
And to share this walk,
Even from afar,
With someone who sees you.
I'm walking with you,
Darling,
Maybe not in person,
But I'm right here in spirit,
Step for step,
Breath for breath.
So let's keep going together,
Your pace,
Your path,
Your peace.
Maybe you've come to this meditation because movement and mindfulness feel best for you.
That's more than okay,
It's beautiful.
Walking is its own kind of healing,
It reduces stress,
Lifts your mood,
Improves digestion,
Sharpens focus,
And brings you back to yourself.
It's not just about stretching your legs,
It's about stretching your mind too,
And darling,
That counts.
So step into that,
Step into the knowing that every breath is a form of care,
You're nourishing your body and calming your spirit all at once.
Keep walking at your own pace,
Breathing in the fresh air,
The new energy,
Breathing out anything still or stagnant.
You're doing so well,
And I am here with you,
Darling,
No judgment,
No rush,
No pressure,
Just presence.
Helen Keller writes,
Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.
So even in the messy,
Unclear,
Or heavy moments,
You're not walking alone,
I'm with you.
And we're walking each other home.
Keep going,
Let this be your reset.
Walk yourself out of the overwhelm,
Walk yourself back to peace.
Sometimes,
Just 10 minutes is all it takes.
And when you're ready to head back,
Just know that you can carry this presence with you,
This breath,
This rhythm,
This reminder that even in the chaos,
You can always return to your own two feet and find your way back to center.
Thanks for walking with me.
Until next time,
Stay grounded,
Stay breathing,
And stay not so darling.
