A gentle meditation reading Psalm 93 from Nan Merrill's Psalms for Praying. Before beginning, there is time to settle and come to stillness, then, as the Psalm is read three times, there are plenty of opportunities to welcome the words or phrases that stand out to you to be received deeply and offer their gift. This version of the Psalms is not a direct translation but is kind, gentle, and intimate. The recording took place outside in the UK in summer so contains nature sounds and some sounds of the breeze.

Hello friends and welcome to this Lectio Divina on Psalm 93 and I'm recording outside.

Please welcome the sounds of nature and life as part of this meditation and you are welcome here.

I'm so glad to share this with you.

Please take some moments to settle in,

To get comfortable and to arrive.

Gather yourself into this moment,

Into this here and now,

Receiving the grace to be present.

Let go of anything that can be let go of,

Noticing anything that wants to fall away,

To be offered over to divine love for care.

As you arrive notice yourself in your body and your breath and take a few moments to notice how you're arriving right now into this moment.

What's present for you in your body and your emotions.

What's present for you in your hopes and your desires as you open to receive these words.

I'm going to read the psalm three times.

It's a short little psalm.

On this first reading do welcome the whole psalm without attaching to any words or phrases.

Psalm 93.

The Almighty reigns in majesty.

The Creator is robed and girded with strength.

Yes,

The world is established and given into our care.

Our stewardship of the earth reflects our love for you.

You who are and ever shall be.

The cosmos celebrates your goodness,

Oh beloved.

The waters lift up their voice.

The winds speak through their roaring.

Mightier than the thunder of many storms,

Mightier than the waves of the sea is the heart of love.

That which you ordain is certain.

Holiness befits your house.

Our hearts your dwelling place,

Oh beloved,

Forevermore.

On this second reading notice any words or phrases that capture your attention.

The Almighty reigns in majesty.

The Creator is robed and girded with strength.

Yes,

The world is established and given into our care.

Our stewardship of the earth reflects our love for you.

You who are and ever shall be.

The cosmos celebrates your goodness,

Oh beloved.

The waters lift up their voice.

The winds speak through their roaring.

Mightier than the thunder of many storms,

Mightier than the waves of the sea is the heart of love.

That which you ordain is certain.

Holiness befits your house.

Our hearts your dwelling place,

Oh beloved,

Forevermore.

On this third and final reading let the words and phrases that captured your attention bring their gift more deeply to you.

Notice how they make you feel,

How you want to respond to them.

What is the gift that they're bringing?

What is the invitation that comes with them?

The Almighty reigns in majesty.

The Creator is robed and girded with strength.

Yes,

The world is established and given into our care.

Our stewardship of the earth reflects our love for you.

You who are and ever shall be.

The cosmos celebrates your goodness,

Oh beloved.

The waters lift up their voice.

The winds speak through their roaring.

Mightier than the thunder of many storms,

Mightier than the waves of the sea is the heart of love.

That which you ordain is certain.

Holiness befits your house.

Our hearts your dwelling place,

Oh beloved,

Forevermore.

Please do re-listen to these words,

Linger a while,

Put pen to paper,

Continue to receive them.

Thank you for listening.

May you be blessed with hope and joy and goodness.

Amen.
