Psalm 106, Part 3: A Lectio Divina

Welcome to the third part of psalm 106 as Alexio Divina take a pause take a deep breath as you arrive into this moment become comfortable and find yourself in your body notice how your body connects with other surfaces is it possible for your body to soften and release is there anything that wants to fall away to be let go of you are welcome here just as you are and maybe as you arrive you want to notice how you are in this moment how you are in your body noticing sensation how you are in your heart noticing feelings and emotion being aware of what thoughts come with you into this moment and noticing yourself as a spiritual being the spirit within the place in you where divinity and humanity are in union the still center where you are most truly yourself held in love i'm going to read this part of psalm 106 three times on this first reading let the words come like a gentle rain let them come let them go without attaching to any in particular part three of psalm 106 your teaching is a joy to our hearts oh creator of the dance may we become bearers of joy we who are invited to share in the cosmic dance we pray for the gift of wisdom that the motivations of our heart might be made pure that we may recognize the perfect timing of all things and know the seasons of the heart may we walk with faith all the days of our life confident in your living presence even in times of trouble and with assurance for what is and all that is to be may we have faith in the unfolding of our lives and radical trust in the universe may we become aware of the interdependence of all living things and come to know you in everything and all things in you for as we attune to your presence within us we know not separation and joy becomes our dwelling place quiet us oh silent speaker that out of still spaces we may hear your voice and as we ponder the immensity of your gift to us of life awe and wonder will fill our hearts for from galaxies and the furthest stars to the smallest atom in our heart you are the flame of love forgive us oh holy one for our wanton ways that have laid waste to our planet on this second reading notice any words or phrases that particularly capture your attention your teaching is a joy to our hearts oh creator of the dance may we become bearers of joy we who are invited to share in the cosmic dance we pray for the gift of wisdom that the motivations of our heart might be made pure that we may recognize the perfect timing of all things and know the seasons of the heart may we walk with faith all the days of our life confident in your living presence even in times of trouble and with assurance for what is and all that is to be may we have faith in the unfolding of our lives and radical trust in the universe awaken us to the oneness of all things to the beauty and truth of unity may we become aware of the interdependence of all living things and come to know you in everything and all things in you for as we attune to your presence within us we know not separation and joy becomes our dwelling place quiet us oh silent speaker that out of still spaces we may hear your voice and as we ponder the immensity of your gift to us of life awe and wonder will fill our hearts for from galaxies and the furthest stars to the smallest atom in our heart you are the flame of love forgiver so holy one for our wanton ways that have laid waste to our planet on this third and final reading welcome the gift of the words and phrases that captured your attention let them find a resting place within you and continue to offer their goodness in the coming days your teaching is a joy to our hearts oh creator of the dance may we become bearers of joy we who are invited to share in the cosmic dance we pray for the gift of wisdom that the motivations of our heart might be made pure that we may recognize the perfect timing of all things and know the seasons of the heart may we walk with faith all the days of our life confident in your living presence even in times of trouble and with assurance for what is and all that is to be may we have faith in the unfolding of our lives and radical trust in the universe awaken us to the oneness of all things to the beauty and truth of unity may we become aware of the interdependence of all living things and come to know you in everything and all things in you for as we attune to your presence within us we know not separation and joy becomes our dwelling place quiet us oh silent speaker that out of still spaces we may hear your voice and as we ponder the immensity of your gift to us of life awe and wonder will fill our hearts for from galaxies and the furthest stars to the smallest atom in our heart you are the flame of love forgive us oh holy one for our wanton ways that have laid waste to our planet with blessing grace and goodness to you amen
