Hi,

Today we're going to start the morning with a quick meditation.

The thing with meditating in the morning is that it doesn't take a lot of time to center us and get us in the right frame of mind to start the day.

It doesn't have to be a very long meditation,

But as long as you set aside some time for yourself,

It does wonders for the mind.

So let's begin.

What you'll want to do is find a comfortable space.

You can either be sitting down or lying down.

It's up to you,

Wherever you feel most comfortable.

And you are going to open your palms,

Open your palms as if you are telling the universe that you are ready to receive whatever gifts that it has in store for you.

You open both palms and you sit or lie there with an open heart space.

What you want to do after this is close your eyes and start to get to a place of clearing your mind to nothingness.

The idea of meditation is to slow your mind down,

To rid it of all the things that it is preoccupied and consumed with on a daily basis in life.

So you slow your thoughts down and that gets you to a place of emptiness in the mind.

And then you allow whatever to surface in that emptiness to come to you.

So imagine yourself slowly ridding yourself of thoughts,

Quieting your mind,

Quiet your mind,

While you are quieting your mind you'll notice different thoughts pop up.

Everything is happening as it should.

Everything that pops up is intended to pop up.

So if you need to look at that,

Make a mental note and revisit it later on.

But get back to clearing your mind.

You now want to start examining your breathing.

Don't change the way you're breathing.

Just continue to breathe in and out.

In and out.

Now Deepak Chopra has a wonderful meditation technique that I love to start my mornings with.

It is called the Soham.

He recommends on the in-breath you say in your mind So,

On the out-breath you say Hum.

So,

So in the in-breath Hum on the out-breath.

So in your mind on the in-breath Hum on the out-breath.

So,

Hum,

So,

Hum,

So,

Hum.

Now you continue.

Tawana, I really liked this meditation. From the posture of receptivity to the use of So Hum mantra. Thank you. I'm wondering if the first part can be remixed so your lovely comforting voice can be louder. I found it a little difficult to hear clearly with the competing background music. πŸ™πŸ©΅

Your voice was so soothing. A lot of random memories from the past came up. Even had a moment of vulnerability.

This was a great meditation for starting the day! It really has a calming and grounding effect. The internal chant aligned with the breath was really helpful for bringing me back to focus when my mind wandered. The background music was perfect for a calm start to the morning. (Though the music cutoff at the end was a bit abrupt; a fade out of the music at the end would be a nice improvement.) Overall this was an excellent morning meditation. Thank you! πŸ™πŸΎ

Thank you so much. I definitely wandered off from the sooo, huuummmm. It was for good reason. I was able to work through some of the issues I had been harboring. How interesting. I often wonder if I should sit more on complete silence. I know there is always time to sit with nothing but there is also something to be said about being reminded to be present and also allow those thoughts to pass through. Only I haven’t quite mastered the letting of thoughts pass through. It’s like sitting with the thoughts as if they were a product in a store and I’m deciding on which on to grab and consider pondering. This time I had a past item come up that I thought was worked through. Now it is. πŸ™πŸΎπŸŒΈπŸ™πŸΎ

Peace and gratitude! Great way to start the day! The mantra helped to still the mind. Hearing observe what comes up and make a mental not was exactly what I do after meditation. Am not conscious that I’m making a mental note, but it registers, and was led to write down what comes up and approach with discernment. The music and your voice supported the meditation beautifully, The end was rather abrupt but did not detract from the quality of the meditation overall. Thank you for a peaceful start to my day! πŸ™πŸ½πŸ’šπŸŒŸπŸ’š
