Hi,
Today we're going to start the morning with a quick meditation.
The thing with meditating in the morning is that it doesn't take a lot of time to center us and get us in the right frame of mind to start the day.
It doesn't have to be a very long meditation,
But as long as you set aside some time for yourself,
It does wonders for the mind.
So let's begin.
What you'll want to do is find a comfortable space.
You can either be sitting down or lying down.
It's up to you,
Wherever you feel most comfortable.
And you are going to open your palms,
Open your palms as if you are telling the universe that you are ready to receive whatever gifts that it has in store for you.
You open both palms and you sit or lie there with an open heart space.
What you want to do after this is close your eyes and start to get to a place of clearing your mind to nothingness.
The idea of meditation is to slow your mind down,
To rid it of all the things that it is preoccupied and consumed with on a daily basis in life.
So you slow your thoughts down and that gets you to a place of emptiness in the mind.
And then you allow whatever to surface in that emptiness to come to you.
So imagine yourself slowly ridding yourself of thoughts,
Quieting your mind,
Quiet your mind,
While you are quieting your mind you'll notice different thoughts pop up.
Everything is happening as it should.
Everything that pops up is intended to pop up.
So if you need to look at that,
Make a mental note and revisit it later on.
But get back to clearing your mind.
You now want to start examining your breathing.
Don't change the way you're breathing.
Just continue to breathe in and out.
In and out.
Now Deepak Chopra has a wonderful meditation technique that I love to start my mornings with.
It is called the Soham.
He recommends on the in-breath you say in your mind So,
On the out-breath you say Hum.
So,
So in the in-breath Hum on the out-breath.
So in your mind on the in-breath Hum on the out-breath.
So,
Hum,
So,
Hum,
So,
Hum.
Now you continue.
So,
Hum,
So,
Hum,
So,
Hum,
So.
So,
Hum,
So,
Hum,
So.
So,
Hum,
So,
Hum,
So.
So,
Hum,
So,
Hum,
So.
So,
Hum,
So,
Hum,
So.
So,
Hum,
So,
Hum,
So.
So,
Hum,
So,
Hum,
So.
So,
Hum,
So,
Hum,
So.
So,
Hum,
So,
Hum,
So.
So,
Hum,
So,
Hum,
So.
So,
Hum,
So,
Hum,
So.
So,
Hum,
So,
Hum,
So.
