Welcome to today's meditation,
Be Free of Anger.
This will be a calming meditation to help us rid our minds and lives of this strong emotion.
So let's get started by finding a relaxing position and close our eyes.
Take a deep,
Calming breath in and say our mantra be,
And then release all that negative energy in a long slow breath out saying free.
Continue your slow cleansing breaths while repeating our mantra,
Be free and listening to my words.
Anger is a very common emotion,
At least a few times a day for everyone,
Especially with how busy everyone is rushing around and multitasking,
Which leads to people getting their toes stepped on,
So to speak.
Not being mindful and staying in the moment leads to carelessness in our everyday lives.
This leads to road rage,
Car accidents,
Arguments,
Misunderstandings,
Hurt feelings,
And anger outbursts for pretty much any reason.
Being angry at someone may not even affect the person you're angry with.
You may not even know the person you're angry with,
But just know you're upset with the person driving the car that cut you off in morning rush hour traffic.
That person may have no inkling they cut you off,
Or the fact that three hours later you're still harboring ill feelings towards this person.
You probably relive this event by retelling the story to your co workers.
At the time you probably swore at the driver,
Threw your hands up in disgust,
Felt your blood pressure go up,
Your patience go down,
And are still holding a grudge against a stranger that doesn't even know you exist.
Anger only hurts the person that is feeling angry.
You are hurting your own health physically,
Ruining your own mood mentally,
And just wasting your life on something that should have been a passing thought or occurrence.
You got so upset over that driver,
But if we rethink the scenario and put ourselves in their shoes.
Maybe their actions were not even meant to ruin your day.
Maybe they were from out of town and didn't realize the lane ended so soon.
Or maybe they were rushing to the hospital for sick or injured loved one will probably never know.
But the point is we need to stop thinking everyone is out to get us and just let the emotion of anger pass over us.
Just acknowledge it for what it is and let it go.
Now slowly open your eyes and let's rethink our emotional state and try to reprogram our minds to be positive and think the best of even the worst intentions of people.
We don't know their stories and probably never will.
Let's make the world a happier place and stop our anger.
Be free to be happy.
