Once I heard about a special star,
A star that everyone has,
A star that is with you all of the time.
So let's imagine that star,
What does it look like?
It can be just as you want it to be.
It can be any shape,
Any size,
Any color.
It can be made out of silk or out of fur,
Out of cotton balls.
It can be made out of anything at all.
See if you can imagine a star that brings a smile to your face when you think about it.
Maybe it's shiny,
Maybe it's soft,
Maybe it's polka dotted,
Maybe it's striped.
Whatever your star feels like,
It's your star and it's yours alone.
Now the star that I heard about,
It changes just like everything else.
Maybe it's large sometimes,
Maybe it's small other times.
Maybe it's hot,
Maybe it's cool.
All of this is up to you.
You know it's your star after all.
But whatever your star looks and feels like,
It's comforting to know that it's always there.
At least it's comforting to me.
So let's sit crisscross applesauce.
We can sit either on a cushion or on the floor or on your bed.
And let's zip ourselves up so we're sitting nice and straight.
One hand in front,
One hand in back.
Zip,
Silent cheer.
Other hand in front,
Other hand in back.
Zip,
Silent cheer.
Hands on your knees.
Sitting crisscross applesauce and up nice and straight because we zipped ourselves up.
Let's imagine that the star is in the sky right now and you can feel its warm light on your body.
Imagine what your skin feels like when it's bathed in the warm light of your own special star.
Feel the warmth on the top of your head.
Now on your forehead.
Now over your ears,
Onto your cheeks,
Your nose,
Your whole face,
Your chin,
Even your neck.
It's all nice and warm with the light from your special star.
Now that light is going to keep moving and getting bigger and the warmth is going to move down your shoulders and get bigger to include your chest and your arms and your hands and even your fingers.
Now the warmth from the light of your own special star is moving into your middle,
Into your lower body.
It's warming up your upper legs,
Your knees,
Your lower legs,
Your feet and even your toes.
Wow.
It feels so good to be bathed in the light of my own star.
How about you?
You know when I'm sitting here bathed in the light of my own special star,
It just feels so good to just be me.
Let's try it one last time.
Let's imagine that we can see our stars and feel their warmth cover our whole bodies just like a cozy blanket.
Imagine,
Really imagine,
Really feel what that is like.
Now imagine the warmth from your star like that blanket is softly falling against your skin.
It relaxes your whole body so you can rest.
Wow.
I feel so much more rested.
So today I am going to close this guided meditation by sending my own friendly wishes to you.
In my mind I have a picture of all of the children everywhere listening to this tape right now and whoever's listening with them whether it's their parents or teachers and in my mind you all have your own special star above you in the sky and those stars are all different colors and all different shapes and all different sizes and every single one of you is sitting crisscross applesauce all zipped up with a smile on your face and all of you are happy all of you are healthy all of you are safe and all of you are building your inner peace so that you can be peace workers and take your inner peace out with you into the world.
