Welcome to this meditation.
I'm LisaJ.
This is a beautiful opportunity for your body to find a moment of rest.
It's so busy all the time.
So let's quiet your mind,
Ask it to take a break,
And allow your body to settle softly and easily.
Let it find its preferred comfort and awareness.
And throughout this meditation,
I want you to grant your body permission to adjust as it would like.
Our body is our home.
It needs to be comfortable.
Right now,
Let's return to this home and we'll be using our breath to pull us back in to where we belong.
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in through the nose.
Hold it at the top.
And release it just as slowly.
Let's do that again.
Long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
Hold.
And let it go slowly Feel free to do this one more time,
Or you can return to a silent,
Tranquil breath at the rhythm that your body prefers.
The breath you take in is ancient.
Let's think about this.
It's been part of the world for a very long time,
That air that you breathe in,
Changing form and traveling through countless spaces and places.
Perhaps this breath that you just took once moved through the hills of ancient Greece.
Perhaps it rested among the mountains of the Andes.
Maybe and most likely it has been carried by ocean winds.
Touch the forest after a rain.
Or even helped welcome a newborn into the world.
And now that air,
This breath,
It is here with you.
Each breath you receive is a gift.
And each breath you release becomes a gift back to the world,
Continuing on its journey.
So let's meditate together.
Breathing in and breathing out at your own pace and at your body's comfort.
Your mind may wonder,
And that's perfectly natural,
Because meditation is not about stopping your thoughts.
It's about noticing when your thoughts have drifted away.
You will be gently asking your thoughts to return your attention to your body and to your breath.
Again and again.
You're coming back home.
Let's begin.
That beautiful breath of yours.
It's continuing on its journey.
Thank you for being here together with me.
