Before we begin this practice together,
If it feels safe and comfortable,
I invite you to put your phone on silent or,
And do not disturb.
This walk is an invitation to reconnect with your surroundings and with yourself.
So,
There's no destination here,
Only presence.
Let's begin.
As you begin walking,
Bring your attention to the sensation of your feet meeting the ground.
Notice the rhythm of your steps.
The gentle shift of weight from one foot to the other.
Allow your breath to move naturally with your body.
No need to control it.
As you walk,
Begin to take in your environment.
Not by thinking about it,
But by sensing it.
Notice the temperature of the air on your skin.
The sounds near you and further away.
The subtle movements happening all around you.
Now I invite you to gently choose one color to look for during your walk.
Not an obvious color,
But something softer or less predictable.
As you walk,
Allow your eyes to naturally notice where the color appears.
You may see it in leaves,
Buildings,
Clothing,
Insects,
Shadows,
Or reflections.
There's no need to search,
Just simply notice when it shows up.
Each time you see that color,
Let it anchor you back into the present moment.
If your mind wanders to your to-do list,
Conversations or concerns,
Gently return to your steps.
Your breath.
Your chosen color.
This walk doesn't need to be fast or slow.
It simply needs to be aware at your own pace.
You're not walking to clear your mind.
You're walking to meet it right where it is.
Feel your body moving with purpose,
With ease.
Feel yourself supported by the ground beneath you.
As your walk continues,
Allow a quiet sense of gratitude to arise for your body and what it's able to do for you.
For movement and your ability to get away.
For this moment of connection between yourself and everything that is surrounding you.
Mindfulness doesn't require stillness.
It lives right here in motion,
In breath,
In awareness.
Allow this sense of presence to stay with you throughout your day.
You can return to this practice anytime you walk.
One step,
One breath,
One moment at a time.
