Let's sit for a while and do nothing.
I know,
I know,
There's a reason why you meditate.
There's something you want to do or a place you want to get to.
Maybe you want to make sure that you get to that place.
But how about just sitting here for a while?
Without having to do and without having to be.
Just let your body be still.
Let your emotions be where they are.
And let your breath find its own way.
Just in its own time.
Right here,
Right now.
There's nothing you need to do right now.
There's nothing you need to be right now.
Just let sensations come and go.
Just stay in this feeling inside,
In this space within you.
There's nothing in particular you have to do.
There's not even anything you have to be.
Maybe you're a father or a mother,
But right now you don't have to be that.
Maybe you're a man or a woman,
But right now you don't have to be that.
Maybe you're angry or upset,
Maybe you're sad or happy,
But right now you don't have to be any of that.
Right now,
All you have to do is nothing.
All you have to be is listening.
And even then,
Even that you can let go.
Just experience whatever comes to you without judging or analyzing,
Without understanding or reacting.
Maybe this feels silly or wasteful and that's okay.
Maybe there's a place in here where you can stay even if everything around you is chaos,
Even when your emotions are chaos.
Even when everything around you is out of order or out of control,
You don't have to control it.
You can just stay in here,
Stay observing it,
Keep looking and seeing,
Keep feeling.
But don't be the one who feels.
Let it come in and let it leave without leaving traces.
Just stay in this peaceful place where there's really nothing.
There are no actions you have to take,
There are no things you have to do,
And even the feelings,
You can let those go.
And even your feelings,
Even though they are here,
Even though your feelings are here,
You don't have to be the one feeling them.
You don't have to be the angry one,
The sad one or the happy one,
You can just look at them or listen to them,
Feel them,
Without being the one who is them.
That way they will come and they will go in their own time,
Without leaving too many traces,
Without sticking to who you think you are.
Because you don't have to hold on to these things,
Not right now,
You can just let them go.
And at the end of this meditation,
You can pick them up or you can leave them.
You don't have to take them,
You can just leave the things that you don't need and then when you wake up and open your eyes,
You can find new things to be,
New places to go,
New actions to take.
And the things you need,
They will come back,
And the things you don't need,
They will stay away.
So now is the time to open your eyes,
Look around and see the things you need and leave the things that you don't need.
