Hello and welcome to this nervous system regulation practice.
This session is short but powerful.
If you've been feeling stressed during your day,
You're on your lunch break maybe,
You're just looking to let go of some residual tension or anxiety that's been lingering throughout your day,
This is the perfect place for you to be.
So if you'd like to sit back or lie down,
You don't necessarily need to watch the video in order to receive the benefits,
But just make sure that your spine is fully supported if you're sitting up and that you're nice and comfortable for the next few minutes.
I'm just going to start with my singing bowl.
Maybe placing one hand on the heart,
One hand on the belly and taking a nice slow and deep breath.
Exhaling slowly,
Audibly,
And another one.
Inhaling slowly,
Exhaling with a sigh.
Exhaling slowly,
Feeling the tension begin to settle where you might be holding on.
Is it in your shoulders,
Your jaw,
Where that tension is living?
Your next inhale,
Sending your breath to that space so that it might let go.
Maybe rolling your shoulders back.
You're creating more space,
More space inside your mind.
Often we become stressed and overwhelmed because it feels like there's too much going on and there's not enough space to manage all the thoughts that might be looping around in our minds.
Those thoughts,
Those worries,
Those stresses,
Instead they're free flowing.
You might imagine them like the process of slowing everything down to give yourself some grace and some patience in allowing yourself time for yourself to settle.
You can let them go and return to every breath you're taking.
