
Igniting Your Inner Flame

This guided meditation is meant to bring you back to your center, home to your purpose. In the busy times of our lives, it can be easy to neglect our inner flame or forget about it entirely. When we do, going inward and turning our attention back on it brings the oxygen needed for our flame to reignite and thrive. This gentle, guided journey will take you to meet your inner flame, allowing you to release all that no longer serves you, creating the space to receive the wisdom and guidance now available to you.

Welcome to igniting your inner flame.
This guided meditation is meant to bring you back to your center,
Home to your purpose.
In the busy times of our lives,
It can be so easy to neglect our inner flame or forget about it entirely.
When we do neglect it,
Going inward and turning our attention back on it brings the oxygen needed for our flame to reignite and to thrive.
When you're ready,
Let's begin this journey together.
Take a few moments to find a comfortable seat.
Allow your body to move in whatever intuitive ways it needs to before we settle.
The invitation is to close down your eyes or soften your gaze,
Resting your hands in your lap or on your thighs.
Taking a deep breath in through the nose,
Filling your belly as much as you can,
Holding that breath at the top before exhaling with an audible sigh.
Deep breath again in through the nose,
Filling your belly,
Holding at the top,
Releasing with an audible sigh.
One more deep belly breath in through the nose,
Filling your belly,
Holding that breath at the top,
Releasing with a sigh,
Letting go,
Letting go,
Letting go.
Allowing your breath to return to its own natural rhythm now,
Relaxing even more deeply into your seat and just noticing how your body's feeling in this moment.
Is there any tension,
Any movement needed to release that tension or breathing into that now with intention for it to soften?
You may want to bring the palm of one of your hands to the center of your chest now,
Signaling to your nervous system that you are safe to soften,
You are safe to slow down and safe to be here in your body right now.
Taking a few moments here to notice the sensation of your inhale under the palm of your hand and the exhale,
Allowing your gaze to move inward,
Softening around the edges,
Blurring the space between the 3D world and our inner world.
You are welcome to release the palm of your hand back into your lap at any time,
Noticing in your mind's eye there is a path in front of you.
It's a path through a meadow of tall grasses and wild flowers that are all gently swaying in the light breeze.
Allow yourself to move along this path.
You may allow your arms to relax and your hands to be tickled by the tall grasses and flowers as you continue to move through this meadow at a gentle and easeful pace.
The sky is still bright above your head but the sun is making its way down.
It's that magical twilight hour where everything feels possible and also everything feels so still and peaceful as you make your way further along the pathway.
You come along the edge of this meadow,
Noticing the bright blue ocean,
Waves moving into the beach,
And you feel drawn towards the current.
The meadow on one side fragrant and beautiful,
The ocean appearing larger and larger on the other as the path you're on transitions into sand and you make your way along the beach.
You notice there is a small fire being built and around that fire are a number of logs.
It's warm and inviting and you find yourself moving closer to it now and when you arrive you notice that you are here on your own.
This fire has been lit for you and you find a place where you can sit comfortably in front of the fire feeling the warmth on your skin.
As you close your eyes and enjoy the warmth you notice that the light around you has become darker and darker except for the flame in front of you coming from the fire.
You feel completely safe and you notice the soft sand in your hands and under you almost as if it's cradling you and as you sit here in front of the fire as you place your attention on that warmth in front of you opening your eyes and your mind's eye at any time to see the flames dancing in front of you.
You notice that with your increased attention the flames burn brighter,
The fire begins to grow in size.
There is nothing to be afraid of here.
These flames are responding to your presence.
They're responding to your energy and attention and they are greeting you here on the beach as the sun goes down and the flames keep everything around you illuminated.
And as you are basking in these beautiful flames dancing before you in their brilliant orange and reds and yellows and blues you notice above you a cloudless calm and starry sky.
More and more stars becoming visible with every passing moment as the sun continues to set.
The fire is inviting you to release anything and everything that no longer serves you.
It's inviting you to put it in the middle of the flames.
It's inviting you to take the weight of these things off your shoulders and allowing them to go up and burn in front of you.
Taking some time right now to identify,
To offload and to put into the fire anything and everything that no longer serves you.
Allow the fire to receive all of these things.
As the fire receives you notice the flames continue to grow as if they are being fed exactly the nourishment they need to burn brighter and bigger and warmer.
They continue to invite you to pass anything over that no longer needs to be carried.
As the flames receive all that you are willing to release notice how your body is feeling.
Is there a change in sensation?
Is there a weight or heaviness that has lifted?
Just notice what you're noticing and as the flames dance in front of you they're inviting you again in your mind's eye to stand up facing the flames and begin to move in whatever way you're being intuitively called to move.
You may begin to gently sway.
You may feel the need to stretch.
You may even feel like dancing around these beautiful flames in front of you.
Allowing this to unfold in whatever way it's showing up for you now and if you find that your own body is beginning to sway invite that movement.
Allow that movement to sway you from side to side.
Allow yourself to receive that movement.
You may find yourself coming back to a seated position or you may prefer to keep swaying or moving or dancing in your mind's eye around these beautiful flames.
However this is presenting for you is exactly perfect for you right now and as you transition potentially to a seated position again or to a more gentle movement if you've been dancing around the flames notice now that there is a gift in these flames for you.
There is a message for you to receive here.
The space you've created by giving over the things that no longer serve you is opening you to receiving new wisdom to take with you from this ritual.
Notice how this gift is showing up for you now whether you see,
Hear,
Feel or imagine it.
Giving yourself some time and space here in silence to receive.
You may also have a question that you want to be asking here.
Something you are looking for wisdom around.
I invite you to ask that question now silently or out loud and allow yourself to receive that answer.
Giving yourself all the time and space you may need to receive this gift.

Before we leave this beautiful beach and these flames in front of you asking now how can you continue to tend to this flame your inner flame after you've left this place and noticing what you receive in response.
Recognizing that this flame is your inner flame.
That you can come back to this place at any time.
That this flame will never go out.
What it may need is gentle tending,
Easeful tending from time to time so that you can receive all that you need.
All of the wisdom,
The creativity,
All of the guidance.
Our inner flame is always here within us.
Taking a moment now in your own way to thank this flame for showing up for you here.
For presenting in this unique way and for the guidance you received.
And when that feels complete allowing yourself now in your mind's eye to get up and move away from this beautiful beach and this fire,
These dancing flames.
Making your way back to the path.
Back along the side of the water.
Deeper into the beautiful meadow.
Back to where you are sitting now in your space.
Taking a deep breath in through the nose filling your belly and holding at the top.
Releasing with a large audible sigh now.
Letting it all go.
One more deep breath in through the nose filling your belly.
Holding the breath at the top and releasing with a sigh.
Allowing your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Bringing some gentle movement back into your body.
And when you're ready opening up your eyes.
You may want to journal your experience to anchor some of these pieces that you received.
It's also a good idea to have a few sips of water and to be still for a few moments until you feel like you've come back completely.
