With so many choices to make in our modern world and so much information at the tip of our thumbs,

We can easily get overwhelmed or distracted by the shiny objects around us.

And before we know it,

We aren't even sure what we're seeking after in the first place and we've lost our home base.

Are you swept up in a sea of doubt and confusion?

Are you burdened and in need of restoration?

Let the words of this song remind you of your mighty rock,

Refuge and resting place.

Start to bring awareness to your breath and your body.

Notice any parts of you that feel unsettled or a sense of striving.

Maybe there's tension in your body.

Just notice it and start to bring equanimity to your breath.

Inhaling for four,

Exhaling for four.

Inhale,

Exhale.

As you inhale,

Return to him.

And as you exhale,

Find rest in him.

Yes,

My soul finds rest in God.

My hope comes from him.

Truly he is my rock and my salvation.

He is my fortress.

I will not be shaken.

My salvation and my honor depend on God.

He is my mighty rock,

My refuge.

Trust in him at all times,

You people.

Pour out your hearts to him for God is our refuge.

Psalm 62,

Five through eight.

As the words of the Psalm land on your heart,

Notice is there an area of your life where you feel shaken or like you're on unsteady ground?

Where is the Lord calling you back to trusting him?

Where can you take refuge?

Inhale my rock and my salvation.

Exhale,

I will trust in you.

Inhale my rock and my salvation.

Exhale,

I will trust in you.

Yes,

My soul finds rest in God.

My hope comes from him.

Truly he is my rock and my salvation.

He is my fortress.

I will not be shaken.

My salvation and my honor depend on God.

He is my mighty rock,

My refuge.

Trust in him at all times,

You people.

Pour out your hearts to him for God is our refuge.

Psalm 62,

Five through eight.

Notice where you may be experiencing God's rest and refuge in your body and breath right now.

Is there a sense of stillness or groundedness anywhere?

Is there a warmth or a coolness?

Is there harmony and ease?

Notice and welcome any changes within you that feel restful.

Allow your soul to find rest in God.

Inhale my rock and my salvation.

Exhale,

I will trust in you.

Inhale my rock and my salvation.

Exhale,

I will trust in you.

So as you walk through the rest of your day,

May you experience the riches of his rest and continue to steady yourself upon the rock of your salvation.

Amen.

Peace.
