Welcoming yourself to your cushion.
Allow yourself a moment to settle,
To arrive.
Feel the sit bones and the contact there.
Allow the chest to rise up.
Shoulders fold back.
You feel a dignity in the top of your spine.
Where the vertebrae of your spine meet the base of your skull.
The eyes rest easy underneath the eyelids.
You may begin to notice the easy inhale and exhale.
That is the natural process of this body.
There is nothing we need to add or take away from this experience.
Any of the five senses and its objects becomes noticeable.
Simply take note without becoming overly involved.
Without pushing away,
Simply take note.
A kind of neutrality.
As we begin to take our seat in awareness itself.
The mind is something we will study over the many meditation practices we take.
And we can allow the mind to do what it does.
There's no need to suppress it.
If you find that the mind is thinking,
Take a moment to notice and observe.
Is that a memory?
Does it involve scenes and visions?
Is there an audio?
Are there bits and snatches of conversation?
What is it like to be with thinking?
We may find that when we take attention to the senses or to thinking,
That the objects of thinking or the senses melt away in the light of our attention.
It's not that they don't arise and stay a while and leave.
It's that we're not getting caught up in them as they do that.
Beautiful.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
