Welcome to this five-minute sleep meditation.
Lie down in a comfortable position with your arms resting by your side.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose,
Filling your lungs completely.
Hold the breath for a moment and then exhale slowly through your mouth.
It's now time to rest and digest.
Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out and with every exhale,
Let go of this day.
With every inhale,
Be grateful for this day and with every exhale,
Let go.
Now gently bring your attention to your feet.
Notice any tension or tightness and imagine it's slowly melting away.
Move your awareness up to your legs,
Feeling them become heavy and relaxed.
Let the relaxation travel up to your hips,
Lower back,
And stomach.
Feel your body sinking deeper into the surface beneath you.
Continue bringing this sense of calm up to your chest,
Shoulders,
And neck,
Allowing them to release any tension.
Gently feel the relaxation spreading to your face,
Softening your jaws,
Eyes,
And forehead.
Bring your focus to your breath.
Notice a gentle rise and fall of your belly as you breathe.
Now also notice the rise and fall of your chest when you breathe.
There is no need to change your breathing,
Simply observe it.
If your mind begins to wander,
Gently guide it back to the sensation of your breathing.
With each exhale,
Imagine releasing any tension or stress.
With each inhale,
Imagine breathing in calm and peace,
Feeling your body relax more and more with every exhalation.
Picture yourself in a beautiful place,
A place where you feel safe,
Calm,
And at ease.
It could be a serene beach,
A quiet forest,
Or any place that brings you comfort.
Imagine the sights,
Sounds,
And smells of this place.
Allow yourself to fully relax into this scene.
Feel how a sense of peace is washing over you.
You're safe.
You're here.
Slowly allow the image to fade.
Slowly allow the image to fade.
Bring your awareness back to your breath.
Know that you can return to this beautiful place anytime you need.
When you're ready,
Let go of any conscious thoughts and allow your body to drift into a deep and restful sleep.
Namaste.
