This talk describes two approaches to Zen meditation: facilitative or instrumental in terms of seeking enlightenment in contrast to an expression of our basic ever-present realized being, also described as an "enactment ritual." These approaches, from the Soto Zen perspective, are contrasted in terms of "dualistic" and "non-dualistic" and as a deficit in contrast to an abundance approach. The direct connection to practice is described in terms of "no gaining mind" and "practice / realization oneness."
