Hi there.
I've been sober now for a little over 100 days which is quite a big achievement for me and I'm really proud to be able to say that.
One of the things that's really helped me stay the course is a pledge that I take every morning when I wake up.
It's basically the first thing I do.
I know a lot of people are struggling with various kinds of addictions.
It's not necessarily alcohol.
It could be drugs.
It could be food.
It can be internet,
Doom scrolling,
All these kinds of things.
And so I thought I'd share this pledge and maybe you can do this pledge with me every morning and hopefully it will help you stay the course in overcoming the addiction that is taking away your freedom.
I call it a pledge for freedom.
So I will read each phrase and give a second for you to repeat it.
I want to live a life of purpose and meaning.
I will not use my energy to worry.
Instead,
I will use my energy to believe,
Create,
Learn,
Think and grow.
May I be peaceful,
Happy and light in body and spirit.
May I be safe and free from injury.
May I be free from anger,
Afflictions,
Fear and anxiety.
May I be free from pain,
Pain and sorrow.
May I be safe from pain.
I love myself unconditionally because it is essential to my happiness.
I love the person I am and I do not need other people's approval to fully love myself.
I welcome the opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and I do not let myself be guided by fear.
I will stay free from that which does not serve me today.
I hope these affirmations help you in overcoming what is taking away your freedom.
These quotes aren't all mine.
It is from various people that I have gathered these together and so I am standing on the shoulders of giants.
Have a good day.
Stay free.
I'll speak to you soon.
Namaste.
