"Sometimes you know too much." Welcome to Pergee. Started learning about singing bowls around 8 years ago. The first recording session was in her space in Kwun Tong at 7 am. I thought that the early morning would give us a quiet background, but I was wrong. Plagued with construction and vacuuming, and movement, I had to schedule another recording session with her. But loved her style, soft, quiet, slow. Intimate but noisy. Her style is abstract. Gentle. I feel a connection with her style of playing, as I feel I share similar interests in sound. This long track was recorded in her own studio space and serves as a great introduction to her style. Slow, intentional, and experimental. In the middle, she stops all sound before continuing with a drone sound while striking other bowls. Great textures.
