Sound Bath Sessions 115: Aki Tsukui
Aki Tsukui was my first stop in Singapore. We recorded at her studio in Counseling Perspective in Queenstown. Aki left Japan a long time ago but remembers her grandmother playing two small metal bowls every morning and night until a few years before she passed away at age 106. This memory of the bowls was buried for many years until a sound bath she attended in Singapore let it surface again. The intention of this recording is ‘Initiation’ and ‘New Beginnings’. I felt the session inspired courage, confidence, and motivation. She started with the crystal bowls to clear our minds. Then moved on to the shamanic drum’s low frequency to build our energy. Finally, she played a mix of metal and crystal bowls as a motivation for action. Two hits on the gong awakens us as we open our eyes and take in that first breath before that first step.
