Sound Bath Sessions 223: Jassinta Lee
Jassinta has been playing singing bowls for about 3 years. She played her metal bowls with some of Christina Shiu's prototype crystal bowls. You can hear the connection she has with her metal bowls with the confident sounds and tempos that she is used to playing. She carried her experience to the crystal bowls by using interesting ways to play them. This track is humbling with its slow tempo and powerful, grounding sounds. Jassinta patiently rings the bowls one by one to allow you to focus on the eccentricities of each bowl, and how it plays with the previous sounds Repetitive sequences and dynamic loudness create a very dynamic composition that fills the entire headspace with wonder and dreams. Love how Jassinta seamlessly transitions to the crystal bowls here ending with the high-pitched drone from a metal bowl. For the finale, she walked around the space with chimes to get a feel of the size of the space.
