Soo May's first sound bath experience left her in tears from beginning to end and began learning about it when the time was right for her. Her first gong teacher was Jacqui who I recorded on my first visit. She travels to learn from other teachers to get more inspiration and ideas to use in her own sessions. As soon as Soo May strikes a bowl or gong, her world slows down, way down, and takes us with her. Her improvised movements are precise and intentional. The deep connections with her instruments can be felt in the meaningful compositions. Soo May used metal singing bowls in this track. It starts off a little busy with background noise but settles down as the playing slows. She transitions from single note sequences to a more abstract bed of sounds made with the soft tapping of the bowls and back again. A tapping ceiling fan could be heard throughout the track.
