Sound Bath Sessions 168: Candace Cheung

This was where it all started. The first recording of the Sound Bath Sessions project. Recorded in a studio in the same way I recorded every other session since- present and face to face. I needed a baseline, a 'perfect' recording to see which direction the project would take. With feedback from Candace, I decided that studio recordings were just not feasible with the size and number of instruments some people have. I felt the recording was in a vacuum, with no identity of its own. From then on, the recordings would be an extension of the practitioner, made in meaningful locations and open to the sounds of their life.

Candace said that the recording gave her more confidence in her playing and inspired her to collaborate with other practitioners for her future sound baths.
