Welcome to the grounding meditation.
Find a comfortable position,
Preferably standing or sitting upright.
Begin to notice your body and the earth below supporting you.
Allow your mind to settle down as you focus on your breath.
Begin to bring your awareness to the middle of your chest at your heart center.
Breathe deeply into the core of your heart,
Allowing your breath to fill this area with warm golden light.
Now inhale from here,
And on the exhale,
Send your breath down through your core,
Out the base of your torso,
And into the earth below you.
Repeat this again.
Inhale in the center of your chest,
And exhale into the earth,
This time going further down.
Now from the earth,
Inhale up to the heart,
And exhale back down into the core of the earth.
Breathe up and down,
Feeling your roots and your connection to the planet.
Now pause at your heart and breathe.
Now inhale here,
And exhale up through your core,
Out the top of your head,
And into the sky above you.
Repeat this again,
Inhaling at your heart center and exhaling up,
Connecting with the sky.
Now from the sky,
Inhale down to the heart and exhale up,
Extending your awareness into the vastness above you.
Breathe up and down,
And feel your connection to the sun,
The galaxy,
And the universe.
Now pausing at your heart,
Inhale,
And on your next exhale,
Send your breath down into the earth,
And your inhale from there into the sky,
Seeing yourself as the bridge between the two.
Continue breathing from the sky to the earth,
And from the earth to the sky,
Feeling grounded in each direction.
On your next exhale,
Come down to the heart and rest here again.
Notice that the earth and sky meet here,
And that you are naturally connected to them through your heart center.
Take a moment to notice how you feel now that you are more grounded.
Become aware of your physical body,
All the way from your feet,
Through your legs,
Your hands and arms,
Through your torso and head,
And now back to your heart.
Begin to move your hands and feet,
And stretch your body in whatever way it wants to.
When you are ready,
Open your eyes and welcome your external world.
