Welcome to today's meditation.
Metta,
A prayer for the world.
Metta is a Pali word that most closely translates to mean loving-kindness.
Let's first begin by centering the body,
Taking a comfortable position whether that's seated or lying down,
Taking in a few full deep breaths at your own pace,
Softening the eyes,
Relaxing the jaw,
Allowing the shoulders to drop,
Scanning the body for any other obvious signs of tension that can easily be released.
These metta phrases are from my heart to yours.
Feel free to outwardly or inwardly repeat these or use phrases that resonate with you.
May you be well.
May you be filled with loving-kindness.
May you be safe from inner and outer harm.
May you live life fully awakened and free.
May you be held in compassion.
May your pain and suffering be eased.
Holding this loving-kindness for the next few breaths and if it feels comfortable to you,
Repeating these same phrases inwardly or outwardly for all beings.
May all beings be well.
May all beings be filled with loving-kindness.
May all beings be safe from inner and outer harm.
May all beings live life fully awakened and free.
May all beings be held in compassion.
May all beings pain and suffering also be eased.
Holding this loving-kindness and compassion for all beings for the next few breaths.
Thank you so much for taking the time to practice with me today.
Sending you love.
