Hello.
This is Sarah from Embodied Truth.
We will be going for a run together.
I will be with you for 20 minutes.
As you run,
You'll explore what's here right now.
In your body,
In your breath.
In whatever is alive and moving inside of you.
Not trying to slow anything down or speed anything up.
Just noticing what's already here.
My voice will be your guide as we go.
Everything I say is merely an invitation.
You are always a choice.
If your mind wanders,
That's completely normal.
When it does,
Meet yourself with gentleness and compassion.
And gently bring your attention back to my words.
Okay.
Let's take one full breath together.
And begin.
As your body finds its pace.
I'd like to invite you to check in with your inner truth right now.
Your emotional reality.
Perhaps you came here with something.
Some weight you brought from the day.
A restlessness that needed somewhere to go.
Or maybe you arrived empty.
Not knowing quite what you needed,
Just knowing that moving and running felt right.
Whatever is here.
All of it is welcome right now.
Our feelings,
Our messengers.
They point us toward what we need.
So,
Without needing to answer anything,
Just notice.
What did you bring with you today?
What is running alongside you right now?
You.
Hold whatever came up lightly.
We will return to this exploration later on.
Let's take a slow journey through the body.
From the ground up.
No need to fix or adjust anything.
Just being here.
And just noticing.
Let's begin with the feet.
The strike,
Wherever it lands.
The brief moment of contact with the ground.
Then the push away into the air.
This is your whole run,
Repeated.
Over and over and over.
Without much thought.
Your body knows how to do this.
The calves,
The ankles.
Is there tension?
Is there softness?
Is there a release?
Let's look at your knees.
Your thighs.
Tensing.
And then letting it go.
What is in the hips?
Is there a looseness?
Or is something locked?
Just notice.
The lower back.
This is sometimes a place where effort quietly accumulates.
There's no need to change it.
Just acknowledge what's there.
Now,
The breath.
Don't try to shape it.
Just find it.
Notice what it's doing right now on its own.
Does it feel like enough?
Or not quite enough.
Is your breath leading the run or following it?
How are you breathing right now?
Moving up to the chest.
Is it open?
Braced?
Your shoulders.
Where are they?
The arms,
Are they swinging freely or held close?
What is in the jaw?
And the space behind the eyes.
And now.
.
.
Holding your whole body.
At once.
Now let's move the attention outward.
From the inside of the body.
To the world you're moving through.
Sound first.
Running has a particular soundscape.
Your footfall.
Your breath.
The world at a higher speed.
It's not quite the world that you walk through.
This one is slightly faster.
Slightly louder.
Now,
Sight.
You're covering ground.
Things arrive in your field of vision and leave.
Let them come and go without holding on.
What is in front of you right now,
Just at this moment?
Your skin.
The air.
Cooler against your face than it would be if you were still.
The sweat if it's there.
The particular aliveness of a body that has been working.
Smell.
Whatever the air is carrying right now.
Without judgment.
Just receiving.
And now,
Your pace.
The speed you're moving at right now.
Just notice it without changing anything.
Does the space belong to how you feel inside right now?
Is it faster than you are?
Slower?
Or is it just right?
Check in with yourself once more.
Remembering that our feelings are messengers,
That they point us toward what we need.
What is alive in you right now?
Not what you hope would be here.
What is actually here?
Running has a way of moving things.
Something that you arrived with might have loosened.
Something you didn't expect might have surfaced.
Everything might be exactly as it was.
That too is information.
From this place.
Pause for a moment and wonder.
What is this friend giving you?
Not what you hoped it would give you.
What is it actually giving you right now?
Perhaps it's movement itself.
The simple need to be in a body that is working.
Perhaps it's space.
From something.
Or towards something.
Perhaps this run is proof of something.
Or release.
Or company with yourself.
Perhaps it's the silence you needed today.
And what else?
What might this run be giving you that is particular to you?
Something that hasn't been named.
Whatever is there,
Let it land.
And now,
If you're willing,
A little more space.
For whatever might be sitting quietly beneath the surface.
Because running doesn't always resolve things.
Sometimes it surfaces them and brings them closer.
What you were carrying when you started may still be here.
Clearer or heavier or simply more honest.
Maybe there's a longing beneath the effort.
To stop pushing,
Not just today,
But in general.
A longing to be enough without having to prove it.
Or something deeper.
A longing to be met by someone or something.
At the finish line of something that actually matters.
Or maybe it doesn't have a name yet.
Just a sense of something not quite reached.
Patient and quiet.
The longing does not signal that anything is wrong in you.
It is just your heart and your body being honest.
You don't need to fix it.
Just allow it to be seen.
Hand on your heart if that feels right.
And silently.
Say to yourself.
I see you.
I hear you.
I'm not going to hurry you away.
You as we come toward the end of this running meditation.
You can keep your pace or begin to slow.
Whatever your body is asking for.
Today.
You ran.
And you listened.
Your body,
Your breath,
Your pace.
And to whatever was running alongside you.
Maybe it was a joyful exploration.
Maybe it was painful.
Maybe it was both,
Or neither.
Whatever your experience was.
All is welcome.
All is okay.
One last breath,
Full and unhurried.
Thank you for running with me.
And as you continue on.
May you embody your own inner truth.
