Hello,
My name is Sandra Menzies.
You've just come out of something.
It could be a meeting,
A conversation,
An encounter.
And you're still buzzing.
Let's give it some more to go.
Stand up if you can,
Or stay seated.
Either works.
Take a quick inventory.
Where is that last moment sitting in your body?
Is it tight shoulders?
A clenched jaw?
A fluttering stomach?
Restless hands?
Now let's shake it loose.
Start with your hands and just begin to shake one or both of your hands.
Letting that shaking travel up your wrists.
Up your elbow,
To your shoulder,
Maybe including your whole body if you're standing,
Or if you're seated,
Bouncing your heels or tapping your toes.
Keep everything loose.
Keep everything easy.
As you continue to shake,
Breathe out through your mouth.
And maybe even with a sigh.
Let it be a little noisy.
Now let the movement slow and even stop.
With your hands,
Start brushing down one arm from your shoulder down to your hands.
As if you're brushing dust or lint off of you.
Whatever that meeting has left on you,
It doesn't need to stay.
Allowing it to go.
Be still.
Feel your feet on the floor.
Breathe in slowly.
And let a long breath out.
Now think of the next thing on your list,
Not the whole day,
Just the next thing.
Ask yourself,
How do I want to show up for it?
Calm,
Curious,
Clear,
Engaged.
Pick a word.
Take that word in.
So that you can take that word with you.
One more breath.
You've let the last thing go.
You're ready for the next.
Thank you for taking this moment for yourself.
Return anytime throughout your day or your week where you feel like you need to release something.
